For my first artical, if I get a good response I will write more. Anyway, 
for my first artical I will study the fine art of Layin' the Smackdown.

Now, what would you consider the smackdown? Charizard's Fire Spin? 
Hitmonchan's Jab? Well, both of these can be considered beatings. Charizard 
is obviously a realy big beatings stick. But he's kind of a one timer. If 
you use him, please have a switch! He'll dish out the killer damage, then 
leave you high and dry.

I personaly feel that Hitmonchan is a better weapon. By turn four Hitmonchan 
will have done, assuming there are no double colorless energies in either 
deck, will have done 100 HP of damage! All before Charizard take his first 
swing. But, of course, you'd have to have Charmander and Charmelion in play 
by then. If you use Charizard have ways of getting energy out. Say... 
Blastois?

But that's just two Pokemon. There are many other good ones to Layeth the 
Smacketh Downeth. Electrabuzz, Gyarados, Scyther, etc. Most are basics and 
have economical attacks. By that I mean the attacks have cheap costs and do 
good damage. Scyther I wouldn't consider to have an economical attack 
though.

Plus power. 'Nuff said. This is a great trainer for adding additional 
damage. Using this on the Hitmonchan example earlier, you can take out the 
Chars with ease.

Staryu, the disposable assassin. Low HP, bad. Effective attack, good! If 
you're not worried about loosing a couple Pokemon for the greater good, have 
a couple of Staryus in your deck. They'll issue the beatings and possably 
take out a Pokemon.

I feel that defender is a bad card. The only time I'd use it is possably in 
a Psycic deck. It prevents a little damge. I'd rather have a potion or Super 
potion.

That is my brief view on the art of Latin' The Smackdown. It is essential to 
win. You must have a way to knock out your opponent's Pokemon. There is an 
example that prove's me wrong, though. Good ol' Mewtwo's Acadamy of decking 
your opponent. In most other cases, you must attack and damage every turn. 
If you don't, you'll be on the recieving end of the all mighty Smackdown. If 
yah smeeeeeeeeeell, what the Cell... is cookin'.
