Here are some of the best pokemon in the game. it may be long, but it's very 
infomative.
electabuzz-him and hitmonchan are probally the best basics in the game. they 
both have 70hp and killer attacks. thunderpunch does 30 plus a chance of 
doing 10 more, for 2 energy. not bad, and for 1 enegy you can do 10 damage 
plus you could paralyze the opponent!
hitmonchan- look above
butterfree- almost impossible to kill.you have to do at least 50 damage if 
you even want to dent this awesome uncommon. plus that annoying whirlwind. 
did i mention 70hp and no retreat cost?
venomoth-awesome. you have a chance of poisoning and confusing the opponent. 
thats a lot of damage in 1 turn!!! should be in all grass decks.
vileplume-PETAL DANCE
exeggutor-not too bad can do lots of damage w/ big eggsplosion.
koffing- very underestimated, has a 100% chance of changing the opponents 
status. i love him!
beedrill-poison sting is great!
mankey-peek is awesome, hes a great bench warmer
primeape- this guy is great too, i like fury swipes
dewgong-i think butterfree and him share the throne of king of uncommons. 
aurora beam is just like dragon rage!
gyarados-100hp & dragon rage
seaking-awesome!!!!! just kidding
arcanine- this card is ok, there is always a down side to his attacks, i 
like the hp though.
rapidash-i love its agility, very annoying
wigglytuff- i have grown to worship it. i love do the wave!
dodrio-ok more of a sacrifice
tauros- another great basic!!
kangaskhan-hmmm, unlike others i'm not too fond of him. if you want to waste 
the energy go ahead, good staller w/ fetch though
pidgeot-Awesome!! hurricane can win you the game in a flash!!!
fearow-i like thiis guy
clefable-1 energy metronome is nice
likitung-a poor man's chansey, nice
persian-pounce is great, kills 2 birds w/ 1 stone
dragonair-i've grown to like him. hyper beam is nice
raticate-only like him for super fang
farfetch'd- since tyler introduced farfetch'd to us, people just 
automatically thought he was good, and they never tested him! i like 
farfetch'd and i know that from experience, i don't think hes the best 
basic, and i think scyther is better.
