When making a deck, a good idea is to first come up with your favorite
and most abundant type of Pokemon you have.Then think of that type of pokemon
and what type is strong against it.Think about it now--what type
of pokemon is weak against THAT type.Use that type in your deck.For 
example if your favorite pokemon type is fire,think to yourself-water
is strong against fire.Water is weak against leaf so use leaf and fire in that
deck.When your opponent drowns out your fire,you can come back with
leaf.
