I've found that It's hard enough getting the right cards with a 2 color deck, 
so 3 probably wont work.  Also, since gyarados only takes water and no 
colorless, it works best in an all water deck.  If you still want to follow 
the 3 color theme, I'd suggest gust basics and stage 1s,  with maybe just 1 
stage2.  You only need 1 or 2 double colorless.  When I read the pokemon in 
your deck, I thought "do you really need psychic?"  After all, you only have 
1 pokemon(chain of evolution).  There really aren't 
too many good psychic, just A-kazam, Jynx, mewtwo, or Mr Mime - not much 
choice.
The only plus of having alakazam is for the damage swap, and with just 1 
alakazam, It will be difficult to get out.  I reccomend a 2 type deck with 
fast cards with good basics and fairly low energy costs(ex. eevee and 
jolteon, venonat and venomoth, seel and dewgong). I use 12 or 13 of each 
energy and a double colorless if I have a lot of colorless energy 
requirements.
