Well, here are some of my favorites from Fossil. I know people aren't ready for fossil yet 'cuz jungle just came out, but to be honest, i didn't think jungle was as great as i was expecting. i still like using and buying basic set things more. they might be expensive, but i would rather have a blastoise than a holographic vaporeon any day. well, maybe expansions can't be that bad. So, here are some of my favorites from fossil, enjoy! POKEMON Aerodactyl-basic 60 HP Power: no pokemon can evolve, as long as Aerodactyl is in play, unless aerodactyl is paralyzed, confused, etc. 3 colorless- 30 Aerodactyl looks cool. I think he might be the new MVP of haymakers 'cuz if u ask me, one of the strengths of haymakers is slow decks with lots of evolutions don't have time to evolve, and the haymakers just end up fighting the basics of the big guns that were put in the deck, making a win easy. Aerodactyl can sit on your bench just so he can help out against those rare evolution decks that can get their big guys out early. With aerodactyl, bye bye charizard, and all other dumb stage 2's. and his attack might not look good, but for goodness sake, doesn't it look like your favorite Farfetch'd guy. Articuno-basic 60HP 3 water- 30-flip to paralyze 4 water- 50...flip. heads:10 to everyone on opponents bench tails: 10 to everyone on your's. Pretty good. nice attacks, maybe expensive, but i compare articuno to farfetch'd. you change those 3 col, to 3 water, and you get the chance to paralyze, along with the same amount of damage done. the second attack is risky, but good. i don't mind the fliipping because i don't play with lots of benched. what's 10 damage to a hitmonchan or two? Dragonite- stage 2 100HP Power: anytime during your turn, u can switch dragonite with active. cannot use when asleep etc. 4 colorless- flip 2 coins. 40 for each head. not so good huh? just thought i'd put him in 'cuz everyone seems to be looking foward to him coming out. i think he'll mostly be kept for his value if not traded. Dragonair from basic, and "evil" Dragonite from Team Rocket, even look better. I'd rather use kangashkan. he's only got 10 HP less, Comet punch is a lot like dragonite's attacks, and i'd rather use fetch than dragonite's power. Ekans and Arbok- basic and stage 1 40 & 60 HP ekans- 1 grass- flip to poison 1 grass/1col-20...flip to paralyze arbok-1grass- 10 and flip to switch opponen't active with benched. 2 grass/1 col- 20 and paralyzes nice...very nice. ekans poisons, poisons, and still has an attack that does more than 10 damage. good for basic. when fighting big pokemon. use ekans to poison, and then use some energy removals. next turn, evolve and use arbok to keep the other pokemon paralyzed. keep paralyzing, and wait till the damage from arbok and the poison from ekans kills. leaves the big guy that your opponent is using, poisoned, energyless, and helpless because of paralyzation. Only two ways to get out of that scenario, switch, or full heal. But full heal is not commonly used. so only decks that have lots of switches can stand up to these two fossil pokemon. kabuto and kabutops- basic and stage 1 30 and 60 HP kabuto- Power reduces all damage to kabuto by half. 1 col-10 kabutops- 2 fighting-30 4 fighting-40, reomove damage from kabutops equal to half the amount done Pretty nice, kabuto might not be the best, but kabutops is. I love butterfree's mega drain and kabutops has a mega drain that can be used in the ever growing in popularity fighting decks. mono fighting and haymaker decks are becoming more popular, and i think this guy will be too . Weezing- stage 1 from koffing- 60 HP 2 grass-20 & flip to poison 2 grass/1col-60; 10 to each benched; 60 to it's self Not horrible. HP wise it's not the best, but 2 grass to do 20 and maybe poison is great. I think koffing might start to be used more. in all the 6 tournys i've been to, i have never seen a grass deck use koffing or tangela. i think that's going to start to change though. they're not that bad u know. IMPROVED POKEMON FROM ORIGINAL SET not going to get into them. they all suck except for maybe the new magmar. its second attack gives a chance to poison, making it the only fire that can. and its attacks are cheaper then the original. first attack takes one fire and the second (the one that might poison and does 20) takes only 2. he's also got 70 HP. TRAINERS Energy transmission- search for one energy from your deck and add it to your hand Fossil of something- attach evolution cards to fossil of something, as long as those evolution cards have no evolution cards attached to them. fossil of something can not be knocked out gambler-return your hand to the deck. flip a coin. heads: draw 8 cards. tails: draw 1 Old Man Fuji- return one of ur benched pokemon to the deck Recycle-flip a coin. if heads choose a card from ur discard pile and put it on top of ur deck Pretty good trainers. i don't fully understand fossil of something, but if it does what i think it does, that's way too good for a common. watch out pro. oak, here comes gambler. energy transmission is like a retrieval, but instead of retrieving two and paying one, u get one from ur deck, and don't have to pay for anything
