Dear Pojo, Now that Jungle has finally been out for a while, and the dust has settled, the best decks have been formed. The greatest thing about the best decks in the tournament scene, is that there is FINALLY a system of checks and balences. I'm sure there will be disagreements, but anyone who plays the game as much as I do, and have participated in as many Tournys as I have, will see the Reasons behind my choices. They are: Raindance............Mono-water w/Blastoise Mr. Mime decks &.....Psi decks with Alakazaam+Mr. Mime Haymaker.............Usually Hitmonchan/Electrabuzz and now Scyther with a good number Of energy removals. What I meant about the Checks & Balences is this: Mr. Mime STOPS Raindance, Raindance STOPS Haymaker, And Haymaker STOPS Mr. Mime. Now these ARE a bit generalized, I know. But MOST of the time, this is how it works. the pokemon power of mr. mime is TOO much for blastoise's ability to handle, Blastiose's QUICK energy recovery and heavy hitting is too much for Haymaker to handle, and finally, Haymakers speed and quick Jab type attacks are too much for Mr. Mime to handle. THIS IS A WONDERFULL THING! Pokemon was needing a Third Power deck. With the Addition of Mr. Mime, Tournys can now expect THREE not Two tough decks to go against. Before, Raindance and Haymaker were the reigning kings. Sure, according to my statement up top, Haymaker should NEVER have won, But raindance is a tricky deck. If your good with it, Haymaker SHOULDN'T win...ahem, but thats a different subject. These three decks are, In my opinion, the most effective, efficient, and powerfull decks anyone can make. Now there are ALWAYS the odd ball decks, that ARE quite good, but you Usually Don's see them consistantly win tournaments. I use the Term "best" very loosely, I'm not inferring that NO ONE ELSES DECK CAN EVER BE BETTER, I just believe that they are the most common, and strongest decks that I have seen at the tournaments I have participated in. ***NOTE! This doesn't mean everyone should make ONE of these three decks. That would make the environment SO unbearibly BORING, that there would be no hope for pokemon to last. I am simply pointing out what the MAJORITY of decks are at large scale tournys, and helping players Prepare. The best decks to actually PLAY are the theme decks, or the Odd Ball decks. Some of my FAVORITE Tourny games were against tough opponents playing with strange pokemon. If you have problems with my article, feel free to Email me, i would love to hear from you.
