Dear Pojo, Your sight rules! My piece is on the 10 Ten Pokemon List recently seen in the Auguest issue of Inquest Gamer. I don't know if this fits under deck building tips or single card evals...well here's my review. 10. Dugtrio How can they think that this guy even deserves to be though of as one of the top 10 Pokemon in the TCG? Slash is a good attack and Earthquake is powerful...but dealing 10 damage to everyone on your bench could be disastrous upon repeated use. Lastly with the floatila of new grass cards in jungle, and mono-grass emerging as a strong deck type, this guy is up the river without a paddle. My position: Inquest was dead wrong, my opinion Mid-teens, perhaps 15th. 9. Dewgong This guy warrents his spot here at 9th. His attacks are good, 2 Blue and 1 Colorless for 50, and 2 Blue and 2 Colorless for 30 with a chance to paralyze. Only drawback, a measly 80 HP. My rating: Inquest was dead on with this on. 8. Charizard This guy really doesn't deserve his fate. He is big and strong and hungry. Charizard with all his good points, HP, Attack, and Poke Power just goes through too much energy. My rating: Inquest overrated him, he should have barely broken the top ten. 7. Gyarados This was another Pokemon that got shafted. Gyarados is a powerhouse and has no major drawbacks, except Magikarp. Still, just bench Magikarp and don't send him out till you have a Gyarados on him. The advantages outweight the disadvantage. My rating: Inquest ya blew it again, he should have been much high than 7th. 6. Venusaur Venusaur is perfect for the 6th slot. Big and strong, but not the best. Fire is a common color and eats this guy and his family chain for breakfast. Still Energy Trans and Solarbeam make an awesome combo. My Rating: Good rebound after the Gyarados debockle. Venusaur is potent buy still weak. 5. Jynx Alright, now we see a distinctive move in Inquests ratings. At first it looks like they were high and drunk when they did the bottom five...now they just look like they were drunk. Don't get me wrong, Jynx is great. Still, Doubleslap is weak and it takes time to build up to meditate. My rating: Jynx barely deserves to be this high. I say switch its ranking with Venusaurs. 4. Chansey A CHANSEY??????? Come on! You know what? They need to invert the bottom five and top five and do a little cut and pasting. Alright, enough with the jokes. Chansey is a staller but other than that is useless. Inquest has a nasty habit of overatting stuff. My rating: Inquest overrates again. Chansey should be 7th. 3. Electrabuzz Hard to argue this but I'll try none the less. As part of the haymaker is quite a monster, but if facing another haymaker, he'll get beat to a pulp be Hitmonchans. My rating: Needs to be moved down one, but I pretty much agree with Inquest. 2. Hitmonchan The Haymaker! The ultimate beatdown deck! Still, Haymakers are beaten to a pulp by pyschics, and Special Punch takes tiem to build up to. My rating: He belongs down in the midsection, but he is still quite strong. And the Number One Pokemon according to Inquest is... 1. Alakazam ALAKAZAM?????? Don't get me wrong, with Mr. Mime the new Damage Swap decks are hard to beat. He is a core of a deck type so he deserves to be high, but still he's not the best. My rating: Barely overrated again, 2nd or 3rd for Alakazam. Alright, so, by my books who is the best? The one who didn't even make it....Blastoise! He is the heart of two deck types, Raindance and Turbo Blastoise. Damage can be eliminated by potions, scoop ups, and pokemon centers. While the rule of one energy per turn can't ever be broken unless by Rain Dance. With the ability to play multiple energies the powerup time of any pokemon can be cut down ot one or two turns. That is why I think Blastoise should have been best. My top ten list(I KNOW some people are gonna hate this) 10. Charizard 9. Dewgong 8. Chansey 7. Poliwrath 6. Jynx 5. Venusaur 4. Hitmonchan 3. Gyarados 2. E;ectrabuzz 1. Blastoise (Send all flames to pokefreakazoid@yahoo.com, or if you'd like to flame me directly, I'm EnsignCJ on AOL) -CJ pokefreakazoid@yahoo.com Current Decks: Tidal Surge Turbo v1.1; 36-5, Power Surge; 10-3 Pokemon Play Day Record: 37-5 _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
