Hey all! I'm sure by now we all at least know some of the cards that are in the new Jungle expansion. And we probably all have opinions on who's on top and who sucks. Well, I've decided to make my own little article on each of the Jungle cards. I'll explain each and I'll try to keep it as short as I can. Read on! 1-CLEFABLE; A 1 colorless Metronome that has no downsides, need I say more? Clefable's bound to be broken soon, espeacially since it has Minimize. Now those irratating low damage attacks are no problem! The only weak point to Clefable is it's weakness to fighting! 2-ELECTRODE; It's first attack is pretty much a rip off i mean 2 for 20 damage, what gives? The second attack is interesting, this is espeacially good against mono decks. Not bad, but I almost prefer the old Electrode better. 3-FLAREON; I think this is the best of the Eevee evolutions. It has quick attack as usual which is handy while your saving energy up for Flamethrower which does 60 for one Fire discard. Teamed up with the right cards Flareon can be lethal. 4-JOLTEON; This card is more of a gamble for two LT and one colorless you flip four coins it does 20 damage times the number of heads. I'd go with Flareon any day. 5-KANGASKHAN; A nice card, for only one colorless you draw a card which can really get you out of a jam. Comet Punch is just like Jolteons attack flip 4 coins it does 20X. 6-MR. MIME; Oh yeah baby, yeah (like Austin Powers)! This is the ultimate card for heavy hitters! It stops their attacks altogether! His power, Invisible Wall prevents all damage 30 and above! He also has an attack called Meditate that does 10 plus 10 for every damage counter on the defender. Like Clefable this card will be broken soon! Get your hands on this guy while you can!! 7-NIDOQUEEN; You may have heard about this 80 HP beast. It's first attack does 20 plus 20 for each Nidoking in play. This could be useful if you cram your deck with Nidokings. It also has a nice attack for 2 Grass and 2 Colorless that does 50. But for 4 grass a Venusaur can do 60, and better yet a Dewgong can do 50 for only 3 water. 8-PIDGEOT; Another great card! It can do 20 damage for 2 colorless witch isn't that great but listen to (err...read to) this! For only 1 Colorless more he can do a Charizard decks worst nightmare! Hurricane which does 30 and if it doesn't knock out the opponent he has to go back to the opponents hand! Take that Charizard! 9-PINSIR; One of the four new bug types Pinsir is powerful! His first attack Vicegrip does 20 and can Paralyze the opponent for 2 grass. Also while you're paralyzin save up for his Guillotine attack it does 50 for 2 Grass and 2Colorless. 10-SCYTHER; The much raved Scyther can do 60 damage for 3 Colorless after you use Swords Dance of Course. After that you can just keep dishing out 30 damage until Scyther's almost KO'd then retreat him (which is free) and energy trans his energy to Venusaur! 11-SNORLAX; I see no use for this card. It's power may prevent it from getting any stasis change but still, while it's powering up for it's 30 damage and possible paralisis to opponent attack Body Slam (which costs 4 colorless) all you need to get it down to 10 HP is a Machop. 12-VAPOREON This card's not bad. Besides Quick Attack it has Water Gun which does 30 plus 10 more for each extra Water energy on Vaporeon (the energy after the 2nd doesn't count). With 80 HP it's got some good potetial. 14-VENEMOTH I like this card. With it's power you can change it's type to any type of pokemon that's in play! So if you're battling a fire type just change to water and Venomoths attack will do double! His attack does 10 damage and if you flip a heads it confuses AND poisons the opponent. So he'll take 10 damage after each turn and has to flip to retreat SWEET! 14-VICTREEBELL; This seems to be the underdog Stage 2 in the Jungle. It's actually very nice though! For just one grass energy you can gust of wind the opponent! And for just one grass more can do 20 damage and you flip a coin if heads the defending pokemon can't retreat! So let's get this straight, you can gust of wind the opponent and he may have to stay that way? Oh yeah baby, yeah! 15-VILEPLUME; You could base a deck or at least some trainer cards to spruce this card up. It's already powerful with it's attack pedal dance this one's amazing, for 3 Grass you flip 3 coins it does 40 damage times the number of heads! The downside is that Vileplume is then Confused. If you team him up with some Full Heals he can almost give you the game! Oh almost forgot, it's power Heal let's you flip a coin if heads you can remove one damage counter from one of your pokemon! So if your Vileplume is getting low on health just use this! It can also be very useful on Chansey, giving it enough damage to unleash another Double-Edge! 16-WIGGLYTUFF; Wiggly can be powerful in the right situation. First of all it has an attack for 1 colorless called Lullaby which puts the pokemon to sleep (no coin flip!), then there's do the wave for 3 colorless it does 10 plus 10 for each pokemon on the bench interesting... very interesting. 17-BUTTERFREE; Yet another jungle card with great potential. I don't like its first attack though it's just like pidgeys whirlwind only it does 20 damage instead of 10. It can be very good for you or very good for your opponent, since he gets to choose which pokemon to put out. But it's next attack is awesome but costly Mega Drain does 40 for 4 grass but that's not all, you get to remove half the damage done to the opponent from Butterfree! So against most pokemon that would be 2 damage counters but with pokemon that have a weakness to grass that'd be 4 damage counters removed!! 18-DODRIO; I would use this pokemon only for it's power which allows your active pokemon to retreat for one less energy. This allows many pokemon to retreat for free! I don't like it's other attack though which for 3 colorless does 10 damage plus 10 more damage for each damage counter on Dodrio. It can be useful when Dodrio is close to dead, but it sucks in the beggining. 19-EXEGGUTOR; I think this card has the best potential of all the Jungle cards (as you may have read in my Single Eva. article). First of all it has teleport for 1 psy energy which allows Exeggutor to retreat for free which is always nice. Then there's the awesome Big Eggsplosion, it does 20 damage and you get to flip a number of coins equal to the amount of energy on Exeggutor. So teamed up with Venusaur's Energy Trans Exeggutor can do an enormous amount of damage!! So the next time you go to a tourny be sure to bring a pencil and paper (or better yet a calculator! =o) )! 20-FEAROW; One of the best Jungle cards out there. With agility which for 3 colorless does 20 and if you flip a heads will prevent all damage and effects of the next attack. It also has Drill Peck which for 4 colorless does 40 damage. And oh yeah, zero retreat cost! 21-GLOOM; This card is pretty much useless. It has an attack for 1 Grass energy that poisons the opponent. And for 2 grass an attack that does 20 and confuses both Gloom and the opponent. If it's teamed up with Full heals it could be alright, but even then 20 damage isn't much. I would suggest just using posion powder. 22-LICKITUNG; A perfect card for Haymakers it has an attack for 1 colorless that does 10 damage and can paralyze the opponent. It also has an attack for two colorless that can confuse the opponent. So if you confuse the opponent whenever paralyzing it fails you can rely on confusion. 23-MAROWAK; Not bad, for just two colorless you flip 2 coins his attack does 30 damage times the number of heads. He also has an attack called Call for Friend which allows you to search your deck for one fighting type pokemon, so you can get that Hitmonchan out and start dumpin energy on him right away! 24-NIDORINA; I like this card almost as much as Nidoqueen! For one grass you can flip to make your opponent confused. And while the defender is trying to attack save up for double kick which costs one grass and 2 colorless and lets you flip 2 coins it does 30 times the number of heads! Alright it's gettin kinda late now so I'll wrap it up. I'll probably write the rest tommorow. I'll be discussing mostly commons and will have the Jungle top 10! Be sure to check it out!
