OK, It has been a while since i have given you a piece of brainwork so here it is.. I have compiled a list of the top 10 cards and essentials for every deck. Here it all is: TOP 10: 1)Professor Oak- Think about it. If you draw this card in your first few turns, all you have to do is lay those basics and energies, play those trainers, and use that Oak. Boom! 7 cards. Its a very powerful card, we dont even allow it in our tourneys because it is considered broken. 2)Bill- Same as Oak only 2 cards and no discarding. 3)Hitmonchan- What can I say? 1 fighting gives you a solid 20 damage attack and for 2 fighting 1 colorless, he gives you a strong consistent blow. I use 4 of them, they rule. 4)Energy Removals and Supers- Hinders the enemy so you can deal the death blow. works great if they have duble colorless energies. It also wins the fight between your shrimpy pokemon and their evolved monster. 5)Farfetch'd- Also very important to most good decks. Nice attack, low retreat, aweseome resistance, perfect for the thinking decks. 6)Chansey- High HP and nice attack make this pokemon a great addition to any deck. His power is often overlooked but 2 of these in your latest creation can be very effective. 7)Electabuzz- The nice thing about Buzz is his second attack. It takes only 1 lightning and 1 colorless to do 30(10 to self), or 40 damage. 8)Kangaskhan- The jungle addition brought a great new companion with it. This beastly parent pokemon boasts 90 HP, a 1 energy technique, along with a 4 energy attack. He can do 80 damage(for lucky flippers) and his fetch technique is like a Bill every turn. 9)Gust of Wind- you want that weakling or that energy-less Gyarados to come out and take a beating? Gust it! Very useful in those longer games when the benches are full and the selection is good. 10)Scyther- I haven't replaced all my Farfetch'd with these guys yet but I am contemplating. Theyre basically a big Farfetch'd with no retreat cost, a weakness to fire, and 70 HP. Possibly the next generation of strategy is in this new kid. Watch him rock in the next few tourneys. Essential #'s in Pokemon: Trainers: Bills- 3-4 Oaks- 1-2 Energy Removals- 2-4 Supers- 1-4 Potions- 2-4 Gust of Wind- 2-4 Pokemon: Chanseys or Kangaskhans- 1-2 Farfetch'd- 2-4 Hitmonchan_or_Electabuzz_or_Jynx- 1-4 Energies: At least 24-26 of whatever type you need.
