My name is Walter Fisher and I am one of the best players at the local tournament I go to. My current record is around 7 wins+3losses. I only loose a few matches because I run into my weakness and my strategies are delayed. This is something I have found to be very common. Once I have a Computer Search the game is over because I then get a Professor Oak and in my water deck I pulled out a breeder, a blastoise, a trader, a search, and an oak, then it is game over, even for an electric deck. Now that I have explained a bit of my backround it's time for the strategies that will guide you to glory. 1. one or two super potions and two potions. i have found this simple combo to work really well. 2. jynx. one of the best basic pokemon. can attack from the start and once meditate is out...bye bye! The other great ones are(among them) hitmonchan, electabuzz, scyther, pinsir, kangaskhan, tauros, chansey, clefairy, magmar, and last but least, zapdos. 3. computer search. i see so many decks in the killer decks section that do not have even one of these. they are a must if you want the advantage. you could even use this to pull out energy if you want to if your in one of those infamous lulls of the energy supply. 4. revive w/ scoop up. come on now, if a cold basic you only have one of dies, you just put down revive, then scoop it up and take off the damage and you don't have to discard any energy or any other cards you would attach to it. 5. pokeball. if you have no pokemon traders this is a good substitute. it won't always work, but at least it's a chance. 6. DON'T PLAY FIRE! i can't stress that enough. fire is bad. with the exception of charizard in a different deck(energy burn and pokemon breeders) DON'T PLAY WITH FIRE OR YOUR CHANCE OF SUCCESS WILL GET BURNT! 7. three gyarados. i've found them to work very well. four of them is bad because you can only have four magikarps and four magikarps won't cover the other four. if you have four trade one for something you need. with people going after JUNGLE now the first set will become more common because less people will be after it than JUNGLE so get rid of extras now before the market becomes over saturated with set #1. 8. if you want to make a mono grass deck make sure you have a venusaur, nidoking, scyther, and pinsir(one of each) then add a nidoqueen or beedrill or vileplume or victreebell(only one of the four) then you'll have three stage 2 evolutions and two solid basics. this way you'll have plenty of room for trainer cards and energy. (i recomend 24 energy because that is the amount i play and i am never short. and also have three or four pokemon breeders as part of your trainer cards. i play with four and it works excellent. if you professor oak and get three of your breeders, you can rest assured you are not out of breeders since you know you have another somewhere. 9. if you plan to make a mono psychic or fighting deck be sure to put in plenty of colorless pokemon since there aren't a lot of basics, especialy for psychics. 10. one or two poliwraths. trust me, they are a deffinate edge. My email address is TROCKET316@aol.com if anyone wants to contact me for deck advice or whatever. bye and, oh yeah, a little luck along the way never hurts! Good luck!
