I have been searching for Pokémon trading cards for my daughters and in the process have become hooked. Well.. its been very difficult to find starter decks, and booster packs are hit or miss. I got lucky and walked into a Best Buy as the guy was putting up the last of his theme decks, I wasn't cruel! I just bought one of each theme and left the rest for some other lucky bastard. I found starter decks, at a lumber shop! The owner apparently is into Magic the Gathering and decided to diversify He shows up in the distributors list. He was gouging but they were the only decks I found in an 80 mile radius of St. Clair Shores, MI. I continue to search for inexpensive cards. Its seems anyone that has them has begun to raise the price. Booster packs: $8.00 at a 1/2 card shop, $4 at Media Play, $3 at Toys R Us, Starter Packs: none found. Ebay: is another gamble, you may find them but they are getting rarer. As soon as someone finds out they're in stock, they're gone. In my travels, I've found a few stories, two today. Toys R Us has 14,000 units ordered but hey don't expect delivery of what was ordered. If history repeats itself, they'll only get a quarter of what they order. Or none of what they ordered and something entirly different or so they store manager said. The other tidbit is....Meijers will no longer carry pokemon cards because they have been outbid for product by other sources and they (Meijer) refuse to gouge their customers, saying they'll wait until the furvor dies down and demand returns to normal.
