Okay, I know you took one look at the title, went "Mono-Grass Haymaker? This guy must be crazy!" Well, it's true. This is a look at some of the decks of the future. I believe that a new generation of decks will be born, decks that rely heavily on pokemon powers to gain advanced abilities. They will put all them pokemon on the bench, then use one heavy hitter to inflict massive pain on the opponent. There will be yet other decks. Decks can possibly use haymakers other than fighting (Hitmonchan), electric (Electabuzz), or psychic (Jynx). There will be other types. Well, here are some decks. The Power 10 Fighting Energy 15 Grass Energy 3 Mankey 2 Primeape 2 Hitmonchan 3 Oddish 2 Gloom 1 Vileplume 3 Venonat 2 Venomoth 3 Bulbasaur 2 Ivysaur 1 Venusaur 3 Potion 2 Full Heal 1 Super Potion 2 Energy Removal 1 Itemfinder 2 Bill The purpose of this deck, as mentioned above, is to use pokemon powers to destroy the opponent. The main boys in this deck are Venomoth, Primeape, and Hitmonchan. Venomoth can do 10 (20 with Color Change) with a possible chance of poisoning AND confusing. Nothing can stand that for long. Primeape can do 50, and everyone knows what Hitmonchan can do. The Full Heals are in there for a couple of things. First, every Pokemon Power has the phrase "This power cannot be used if ******** is asleep, paralyzed, or confused." Also, Primeape, Gloom, and Vileplume can get confused due to their attacks. The Full Heals stop that. This deck has surprisingly low retreat costs, 2 at max. Mankey and Venomoth have none. I think it has surprising speed for a grass deck. Maybe you could start with a Mankey or Hitmonchan, for a surprise, then bring in a Venomoth to kill the opponent. This deck is pretty good, and if it can get out a big guy early, you can really crush them. The Green, Green Grass 24 Grass Energy 4 Double Colorless Energy 4 Scyther 4 Pinsir 4 Farfetch'd 4 Potion 4 Pluspower 4 Energy Removal 2 Super Potion 2 Defender 2 Itemfinder 2 Bill This deck is focused on Scyther and Pinsir, with Farfetch'd thrown in for support. The Double Colorless Energy is in there because all three of the pokemon can use it, Scyther for Slash, Pinsir for Guillotine, and Farfetch'd for Pot Smash. You've got the 'standard' four Potions, some Energy Removal, a little bit of manipulating with the Pluspowers and Defenders, and some Itemfinders to get the stuff back. This deck is very low retreat cost, with 0 on Scyther, 1 on Pinsir and Farfetch'd. I generally like to play Farfetch'd, and try to eliminate their starting pokemon right off. If you get lucky, you can do 70 damage first turn, which is phenomenal. Take out your opponents Hitmonchan first thing, they'll be crying, praying to draw a basic. This could possibly be the best deck I have ever made, tested out against my friends deck, wiped the floor with him. Him and I are renowned for our pokemon prowess around here. I like these decks, very powerful. On a final note, I have tested these decks, using some proxies. Oh, and if you like these decks, or have something to add, pleas e-mail me. The address is at the bottom of the page. I will try to get back with more decks, including what I think would be the impossible deck, the colorless haymaker. Pretty cool, huh? C.
