I'm going to review the 6 colors. Yeah, a lot of people do, and I'm going to piss a lot of people here. Especially fire lovers. (However many there are) So first off, here's my order of colors. I'll explain them later. 1. Fighting 2. Electric 3. Water 4. Psychic 5. Grass 6. Fire Here we go. Here's my analyzation of the colors, their attacks and so-and-so. Fighting First off, I just want to say, fighting rules! It is the best type. My fighting deck has never lost. PLUSES: Cheap attacks. All basics have an attack for one fighting that can do 10 or 20 damage. Some basics also have a more powerful attack for a couple more... Hitmonchan and Diglett come to mind. They also have lots of Hp. Onix has 90, Hitmonchan has 70, and so on. The evolved pokemon also have tons of Hp. They can all do at least 60 damage. They also all have at least 70 Hp. Is that great or what? DRAWBACKS: No status changes, no pokemon can poison, paralyze, sleep, etc. This can occasionally be a drawback but I've found it doesn't make a difference. Rating (1-5): 4.5 Electric I like electric. If I had the energy I could make a pretty f*cking good electric deck. But I don't. One thing here: Zapdos sucks! 90 Hp, big deal, it can do 60 damage with a 50% of 30 to itself. Or, the bright alternative, 100 damage every 4 turns if you're lucky. PLUSES: Electric is fast, as fast if not faster than fighting. It has a lot of paralyzing attacks, along with the mighty Electabuzz. The basics, like fighting have cheap first attacks and good evolved forms. DRAWBACKS: Weakness to fighting. Fighting has to be one of the most popular if not the most popular type right now. Every pokemon, with the exception of Zapdos, which sucks, has a weakness to the most popular type. I crush electric decks. Also, most electric have low Hp Rating: 4.0 Water Water is Ok. It's not bad. My friend has a pretty good water deck. Maybe I just don't appreciate it. Blastoise is GOOD! Gyrados is pretty good. PLUSES: Potential for high damage. With rain dance, you can do damage early. Most evolved forms have quite a bit of Hp and tons of attack power. DRAWBACKS: Basics have very little Hp, and home to the worst pokemon, Magikarp. It's easy to kill water basics. Also, most attacks have no condition changing, except for Ice Beam and Bubblebeam. Rating: 4.0 Psychic Psychic can do some damage and have conditioning. It has the stalling master, Mewtwo, along with Jynx and Alakazam. PLUSES: It is flexible. Psychic can stall, confuse, paralyze, sleep, attack, recover, heal. It's great. The Hp is about average. The attack is about average. Nothing great. Nothing too bad either. DRAWBACKS: Basics. 2 Basics stand out: Mewtwo, and Jynx. Other than that, it's just about crap. Gastly, Drowzee. These make me laugh. Rating: 4.0 Grass Grass isn't that good. I know, I know, you can sometimes have a good grass deck, but it is nothing to a well made electric or fighting deck. PLUSES: Grass is the condition MASTER! It can poison, confuse, and do anything else. It has good Hp, but nothing spectacular. If you can hold your opponent under a confusion or poison lock, you win! DRAWBACKS: Attack power. Their attacks can't do much damage. Basics have about 40 Hp on average and can do 30 damage max. Evolved forms are okay though. Rating: 3.5 Fire I hate fire. It sucks. It's a big @$$ piece of sh*t. Okay Hp though. PLUSES: This should be short. The pokemon have decent Hp, from 50 minimum to 120 max. DRAWBACKS: Where to begin. Discarding cards for nearly all attacks is an automatic energy removal for the opponents. Who wants that? One actual energy removal from the opponent and you are DOOMED! Rating: 2.5 There we are. A whole comprehensive list. It's pretty accurate between me and my friends though. Oh, I haven't forgotten colorless. It's just more of a complement. Most colorless decks aren't that good. I'm making one that will never lose to anyone though :). C. Rubin Cjrubin@juno.com Master Card Trader Master Card Player
