Dear PoJo, Kolluri has a great idea, and I think that Jungle will set up a whole new playing field. If you think you have a killer deck now, just wait until Jungle unleashes its fury. Below I have three decks that are just unbelievable. THE WALL- Pokemon - 20 3 Clefairy 3 Clefable 4 Mr. Mime 4 Hitmonchan 4 Farfetch'd 2 Chansey Energy - 26 4 Double Colorless Energy 10 Psychic Energy 12 Fighting Energy Trainers - 14 4 Bill 2 Prof. Oak 3 Computer Search 4 PlusPower 2 Defender Strategy- Alright. This deck defeats the ever popular Haymaker, Rain Dancer, and Energy Removal with a quick beatdown from Hitmonchan and Farfetch'd, a full-blown blast from Chansey, and the incredible powers of Clefable and Mr. Mime. Mr. Mime and Clefable are the only Jungle cards in this deck. Mr. Mime is your answer to Blastoise and all those other annoying high damage Pokemon. His power, Puzzling Wall, prevents all damage that is 30 or over done to him, and his attack, Meditate, does 10+ 10 more for each damage counter ont he defender, for just 1 Psychic and 1 Colorless. Its unbelieveable how this guy fights. He is the only 40 HP guy for the late game. Clefairy and Clefable are self-explainitory. Metronome for 1 energy on Clefable is just spectaculor, and Minimize prevents all attacks 20 and under done to him. So if you are fighting a Squirtle, just Minimize until that Wartortle comes out and Metronome its monkey butt. Hitmonchan's powers are undeniable, and Farfetch'd comes into play when you are facing Fighting, or 30 HPers. Chansey also provides great damage, but only 2 mean you should just Double-Edge, not Scrunch. PlusPower is good on your Hitmonchan, and Defender is there when a Hitmonchan decides to Jab your Mr. Mime. All in all, a great deck. PUFF AND TOUGH- Pokemon - 20 3 Jigglypuff 3 Wigglytuff 3 Exeggute 3 Exeggutor 3 Bulbasaur 3 Ivysaur 2 Venusaur Energy - 25 21 Grass Energy 4 Double Colorless Trainers - 15 4 Bill 2 Prof. Oak 3 Computer Search 2 Pokemon Trader 4 Defender Strategy- The one thing that bugs me is Defender, but it is needed against fast decks. If you can find something better, swap it out. The main guys are Jigglypuff, Wigglytuff, Exeggute and Exeggutor. Jigglypuff can use Lullaby to knock an opponent asleep, and then Pound for 20 for two colorless. Wigglytuff grows 20 health to 80 when evolved from Jigglypuff, and is very deadly. In order to use Wigglytuff to its full potential, dump all the Pokemon down that you can early on. Friendship Ring, its most powerful attack for 3 colorless, does 10+ 10 more for each Pokemon on your bench. That means 60 for 3 with a full bench. He crushes slow decks. Exeggute and Exeggutor are very good. Exeggute's got 50 health, and his Leech Seed is just like Bulbasaur's. He's also got Hypnosis for 1 Psychic, but there is no Psychic in this deck. Exeggutor's got 80 HP, and an attack for 1 colorless, but you'll want to dump as much energy on as you can, that's why we got the biggest grass hitter, Venusaur in here. Dump and Energy Trans as much energy on to Exeggutor, because MAX Barrage makes you flip a coin for each energy on Exeggutor. Does 20 times the numero of heads. Oh yeah. 12 energies on him, you are guarrenteed a kill each turn. Plus, if he's almost dead, just move it away with Venusaur, then bring the big daddy out. STOP 'TIL HE DROPS- Pokemon - 12 4 Mewtwo 4 Mr. Mime 4 Chansey Energy - 36 32 Psychic Energy 4 Double Colorless Trainers - 12 4 Imposter Prof. Oak 2 Gust of Wind 4 Energy Retrieval 2 Energy Search Strategy- The ultimate stall. Mulligan to start, if you can, the put out Chansey or Mewtwo prefferably. Mr. Mime can die quick in the early game, so try to get these guys. Barrier and Scrunch for a wall, and use Imposter when they got about 3 or less cards in their hand. Energy Retrieve when using Mewtwo, and Energy Search (comes out in Fossil) when you just can't get the right energy. What Energy Search does is it lets you look through your deck until you find one energy card, show it to opponent, shuffle deck. Mr. Mime should come out against Charizard, Blastiose, or that 4 (!) retreat cost tub of lard, Snorlax, or any high retreater for that matter. If they're not out, Gust 'em out. This deck is probably the best decker ever. Beware. Well, that's it in a nut shell. Mr. Mime will probably be broken by the time Fossil comes out, so use 'em while you can! Also, Scyther, not mentioned here, will probably replace Electabuzz, but that is yet to be seen. Pinsir will be decent, but I won't gamble, 'cuz he can't attack for 1 energy. 50 damage is tempting, however. Rapidash will also be handy, with an Agility attack for 30. Eevee and his evolutions will actually give some purpose to Devolution Spray, so I'd get some while they're still cheap. The new Electrode won't be good, although the new Pikachu might be seen in some decks. Spearow and Fearow might even give Farfetch'd a run, and Pidgeot might be just what you need for countering stalls with Hurricane (does 30, if opponent is not knocked out, return it and all attached cards to owner's hand), and for knocking out a Breedered Blastoise. Wizards has, however, said that the set will have 48 cards, like in Japan, but the Wizards set will have 45 Pokemon and 3 Trainers, while the Japanese set has 47 Pokemon and 1 Trainer. I hope they take out Snorlax, Paras, and Parasect, cuz they all just plain out suck, or the entire Oddish/Gloom/Vileplume line. The only good one there is Vileplume, but he may not be able to get there with his weakling younger stages. Well, I just spoke my mind. Hope to here responses! -Mike W.
