By: A. Kolluri E-mail at- mkolluri@msn.com This incredibly cheap deck which I call "The only good use of Mewtwo" is incredibly cheap. I have speant much time trying to compose a resolution to this deck which gets incredibly annoying in tournaments. The reason I don't want to make this deck is because it takes out the fun of playing the card game. It just wastes time and is incredibly boring. As you may or may not know, this deck contains only 2 pokemon: 2 Mewtwo It also would normaly contain from 45-50 psychic energies: 45-50 psychic energies. The rest are trainer cards such as Imposter Prof. Oak and many others. 8-13 trainer cards The owner of this deck would basically use the mulligan rule to make you draw more and more cards until they finally get out a Mewtwo. By this time, you have probably already gone through about 1/3 of your deck. Next the owner of this deck would take out the Mewtwo. He quickly charges up Mewtwo with psychic energies to use barrier. He has so many energies in his deck that barriers 1 energy cost will not effect him. Barrier is a move that protects Mewtwo from any effects or damages of your next attack. It basically doesn't let you hurt Mewtwo. The owner charges up Mewtwo so quickly that you don't have enough time to charge up enough to kill Mewtwo. Soon enough, you will have wasted so many turns because you can't attack him because of his barrier, that you are all out of cards in your deck. He then wins because if you run out of cards in your deck, you lose. There are a few ways to get around this deck. 1. This is the first and best way to get around this deck. All you have to do is not draw to cards when the owner of this deck mulligans. Drawing two cards in mulligan is optional, meaning you don't have to draw any. Now, you both start out with the same ammount of cards no matter what. It is all up to the flip of a coin now. Whoever is forced to go first will lose. If he goes first, he will use up all of his cards first and lose. If you go first, you will lose all of your cards and lose. If he goes first, he may get desperet and start using some actual attacks, but by this time you will be ready, right? This attack will leave an opening for you to attack. As all of this time has passed by, you should have been powering up a pokemon who can deal out 60 damage. That would be a KO for Mewtwo. You quickly kill him, and since he only has 2 or 3 Mewtwos in his deck, he will most likely have no pokemon, making you win. A way to make the owner of this deck run out of cards quickly would be to use Imposter Prof. Oak to use when he has 6 cards or less, making him draw extra cards. The chance of you winning by this strategy is 50%. It is all up to the coin toss at the beginning. I hope that this strategy will keep people from using this deck in fear of losing to any, thats right, any deck with this strategy. 2. The second way is to get a deck with water pokemon poliwhirl and blastoise. If the person mulligans, you get your cards. This peson will probably mulligan around ten times. By this time, you will probably have a poliwag and poliwhirl. The only way this idea will work is if you get to go first. Now you can take poliwag out at the beginning, put an energy on him, and use water-gun. Next, you evolve poliwag into poliwhirl, and put a water energy on him. Now you can use amnesia on Mewtwo's barrier. This move can stall for a while. During this time, you should power up any pokemon that can deal out 50 damage. Remember, you already have 10 damage on Mewtwo because of water-gun. You keep stalling until you finally get a good, powerful pokemon charged. Now, you withdraw your poliwhirl, and bring out you powerful pokemon. You then kill Mewtwo, and win the game. I feel that the first way is the most reliable, plus it can be used by any deck. If you have a deck with poliwhirl, you can either go first or second. Both ways can work with this deck. I hope that this strategy will stop people from using the Mewtwo decks!
