This is a nifty strategy which I like to use frequently, except when my opponent has a resistance to electricity.  It involves a Magnemite , coming from the bench, fully loaded with energy.  Then in one turn, place a Defender card on Magnemite.  Then, use Self-Destruct.  Now, that move isn't so Self-Destructive anymore is it?  Then, the Defender will be there for your opponent's turn, reducing his attack by 20.  If your Magnemite survives, you can use Self-Destruct again.   There!  You get a good 20* (at the minimum) points of damge with this. AND, if your opponent's Pokemon is no match for Magnemite (such as Staryu) you can use his Thunder Wave attack instead, so Magnemite can take a little off the Pokemon after that inferior Staryu.  But why use Self-Destruct, right?   Well, his Thunder Wave attack is quite weak (10 Damage), PLUS I hate those moves where you have to flip a coin (they're so chancy!  or Chansey!   HEE-HEE!)! I've never tried this with Magnemite coming out with no energy cards, so I don't know if it's safe to do, but feel free to experiment.  I just absolutely luv doing this strategy with my electric/grass deck! NOTE: This will not work with Magneton!  His Self-Destruct does 80 damage to himself, compared to his 60 HP.  Not even a Defender can save him now.  But still, a 40* (at the minimum) point damage move is quite groovin', baby! *This is inferring that the opponent's Pokemon does not have Defender, but it does include Resistance. -The One and Only Reelbigfishman Get your Free E-mail at http://pokemonfarm.zzn.com
