This was forwarded from me on to Keith Williams - his comments are at the bottom - The PoJo "A bunch of my friends were getting tired of my beefed-up starter deck (Y'know, that fire/fighting deck that comes with an instruction book) and challenged me to make one of my own. I accepted and agreed to whatever stipulations they wanted. Bad idea. They challenged me to make a THREE COLOR deck. Now I'm stuck. I was able to get the energy ratio rather well (8 of each with a few Dbl. Colorless for backup), but what's got me stuck is, well.... DECK: Energy: 8 Water 8 Psychic 8 Electric 4 Dbl. Colorless Pokemon: Water: 2 Magikraps...er....karps (Little humor there) 1 Gyarados 4 Poliwags 2 Poliwhirls 1 Poliwrath Psychic: 4 Abras 2 Kadabras 1 Alakazam Electric: 2 Pikachus 1 Raichu 2 Voltorbs 1 Electrode (Also helps if I'm short on energy) Colorless: 1 Clefairy 1 Chansey Trainers: That's right where I'm stuck. I have no clue what trainers I should use other than the "mandatory" 4 Bills and a Prof. Oak. The basic theme of this deck: Pulverize 'em with Gyarados, Poliwrath, and Raichu. Use Alakazam to evenly distribute the damage (Chansey taking the brunt of it). Electrode is in there in case I desperately need some energy or have no other choices. Some advice on what trainers to use, and maybe a little advice on the Pokemon or Energy, would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance, Xaq Shenor (Don't ask how to pronounce it.)" Keith's response -> First off, three energy decks really have a hard time working. I have tried and tried to make them work myself and they just are not consistant enough. The only ones I have seen work decently are 2 energy deck with the charmander line and NO fire energy. About the only thing you could do to make this work is to add ALL THE CARD DRAWING YOU COULD FIND. I suggest 4 Bills and 3 Oaks. Maybe add energy retrievals as well. Drop 2 of the double colorless energy too. You don't need that many. The best advise I could give to you is to tell your friends "Yeah right..." and build a 2 color deck out of this one...drop the electric and go with the water/psychic theme adding energy removals to the deck. Good luck!
