Deck De-Construction 4/22/1999 We had a deck sent in to us by us Carson Gemmill, asking us what we thought of it. This is what we received: "I have been making a water deck called "Tidal Wave" I created. I was wondering if you could give me your opinion on it. Please tell me what to switch with what if you have comments. My deck is like this: Pokemon: 4 Squirtle 3 Wartortle 2 Blastoise 4 Poliwag 3 Poliwhirl 2 Poliwrath 4 Magikarp 3 Gyarados Trainers: 3 Energy Removal 2 Energy Retrieval 3 Potion 2 Super Potion 3 Bill Energy: 22 Water Energy Thanks again. By the way, you have a great page. (of course I had to keep that part in there ;-) Carson Gemmill ------------------------------ I forwarded this out to Tyler Grund to see if he wanted to do a simple de-construction of this deck, and this is what Tyler came up with: "THE DECK: HIGH TIDE (magic name...should be changed...Pokemon should try to get as FAR away from magic as it can... :) lol, learn from its mistakes. All right, this is my version of a Deck analysis...one card at a time: Pokemon: 4 Squirtle - actually good basic, surprisingly 3 Wartortle - strong, but really a stepping stone for BIG-MOMA 2 Blastoise - lol, BIG-MOMa, his Pokemon power can win the game 4 Poliwag - alright but getting to stage 2 is the reason 3Poliwhirl - " " " " 2 Poliwrath - great card, can really hinder your opponent 4 Magikarp - seriously the worst card in the game that evolves... 3 Gyarados ...to the BEST stage 1. This guy is powerful. Not to mention the strange res. to fighting and weakness...to what? Green? Weird. Trainers: 3 - Energy Removal good idea in any deck 2 - Energy Retrieval? hmm, actually an idea I didn't think about, but GOOD idea with Raindance! good job! 3 - Potion useless...the high hp guys don't need this 2 - Super Potion with such large HP, this one is a bit more useful... 3 - Bill good in any deck. Energy: 22 - Water Energy - ok...22?? um....NO! lol, listen, this is a deck FULL of large, energy hungry dudes, closer to 28-30 is the idea:)
