To be a Pokemon Master at the TCG you need to have CS (common sense).  I have
made great decks and changing them at a day to day basis. At first I won
numerous battles against great decks in a snap.  Now those same decks are
killing me in a snap. WHY!!! It is all because I forget to put a bench down.
For example, I was using Ninetails as my active with two prizes left. My
opponent had a Mewtwo out. It was my turn and I had 4 fire energy in my hand,
a dratini, and a vulpix with another Ninetails. I draw my card, attach a fire
energy and kill his Mewtwo. I have one prize left. He puts in Mime, meditates
with a plus power and kills Ninetails. He has 5 prizes left, but he won. WHY,
because I forgot to put the vulpix or Dratini on my bench.  If this has been
a problem with you also try this:

1. Draw your card
2. Take a deep breath and look at your hand and bench.
3. Look at your opponents bench and prize cards (Trust me you forget how fast
they get them)
4. See what outcome would happen if you put down or use that Pokemon,
trainer, energy, etc in your head.
5. Now use trainer, attach energy, and put down bench
6. Now attack

In Pokemon your emotions may overcome you and you may forget these things.
(Like how I was close to killing his Mewtwo). If all else fails put in
pokemon, especially basic pokemon that you would put down on your bench when
you first see them.

True pokemon masters know that "One pokemon (evolved) doesn't win the match,
its all the little (basics) pokemon that determine the battle"
