When Jungle was released, it brought a small help to Green. Not enough help.

In my Opinion, The Jungle Vileplume was basically, useless. It couldn't pack
the required punch to make it of any use.

Then, Rocket was released and a new Vileplume enters, maybe brining a new
Deck with it at that...

First, lets take a look at the Vileplume Line...

Basic Pokemon
Oddish LV. 21
50 HP

[G] Sleep Powder. The Defending Pokemon is now Asleep.
[G] PoisonPowder  The Defending Pokemon is now Poisoned.

Weakness [R]
Resistance [N/A]
Retreat Cost [C]

It's an okay replacement of the LV. 8 Oddish {Hey, is it just me or is the 13
LV differance bring around no increase in HP seem strange?} even though no
damage is 'done' straightforward.

The ability to Poison or Sleep on first turn is pretty powerful, but the
sleep is not that good. If it was either Confusion or Poison, it would be
better.

Rating:6.5 {Better than the LV. 8 one...Well...To me At least}

Evolves from Oddish         Put Dark Gloom on the Basic Pokemon
Dark Gloom                  50 HP

Pokemon Power: Pollen Stench  Once during your turn (before you attack), you
may flip a coin. If heads, the Defending Pokemon is now Confused; if tails,
your Active Pokemon is now Confused. This power can't be used if Dark Gloom
is Asleep, Confused, or Paralyzed.
[GG] PoisonPowder. The Defending Pokemon is now Poisoned.           Damage=10
Weakness [F]
Resistance [N/A]
Retreat Cost [CC]

Well, it's not a big improvement to the LV. 22 Gloom {10 less hp, higher
retreat, damagin attack, a power...} but it is useful if used with the right
cards. {Full Heal, Full Heal Energy. Snorlax}

Rating:5 {Only better with the right cards...}

______________________________________________________________________

Evolves from Dark Gloom     Put Dark Vileplume on the Stage 1 Pokemon.
Dark Vileplume                  60 HP

Pokemon Power: Hay Fever  No Trainer Cards can be played. This Power stops
working while Dark Vileplume is Asleep, Confused, or Paralyzed.
[GGG] Petal Whirlwind  Flip 3 coins. This attack does 30 Damage times the
number of heads. If you get 2 or more heads, Dark Vileplume is now confused. (
after doing damage)     Damage=30x
Weakness [F] {Fire for the Holo Version and Fightning for the Non-Holo
version}
Resistance [N/A]
Retreat Cost [CC]

Okay, it may have lost 20 HP but, its Power keeps it on the Bench {Unless you
bring it out yourself} and its attack is still lame. Its Power stops every
deck that relies on Trainers {Basically, all decks} And, it has the ability
to use trainers while your opponent can't! {I'll tell below}

Rating: 8.0 {It's an improvement...a BIG Improvement and can be really
annoying...}

______________________________________________________________________

Combos {Sort of}
Dark Vileplume {Active} With Dark Gloom on Bench- With this, just flip to see
if you or defending Pokemon is confused {Works better with Multiple Glooms}
Hopefully you both end up confused. This way, you can access your trainers
then Switch/Full Heal Retreat away.
Dark Gloom+Snorlax- Snorlax can never be Confused/Asleep/Paralyzed/Poisoned
so Dark Glooms Power can really abuse that. {To bad there is no from Bench
Poison Power}
Dark Vileplume+Dark Dragonair- Need Evolutions but can't Trader/Comp. Search
for it? Evolutionary Light for them!

All in all, The Vileplume line has brought two new decks {For my area it has}
into play. The HayFever Deck {Revolving around Vileplume} and the
ThickSkinned Deck {Revolves Around Snorlax and the TR Drowzee and Dark Gloom
for their from Bench Status effects}

Thank you for your time! {By the way...The site rocks!}
