Tentacool. First, let's take a look at his stats. 30 HP. Acid: 10.  And an
evolved form that is nearly as useless. You may be thinking, "What was
Wizards thinking to even make a card this useless?" But Tentacool has a
hidden strength that is actually a valuable asset in Damage-Swap Decks. This
strength is his Pokémon Power, Cowardice. This power allows you to put
Tentacool back into your hand, removing Damage counters and discarding Energy
cards, of  course. This power can't be used the turn you put him in play,
though. But here is the key: NEVER attach any energy to Tentacool or use him
as your active Pokémon, because let's face it: his attack is nearly useless
and his HP is almost guaranteed to get him KO'd the turn you put him out. "So
what good is he?" you may ask. Well, Tentacool should be used ONLY to warm
your Bench. Always put 4 of them in any Damage Swap deck, because, the turn
after you put him on the Bench, you can use Alakazam's Damage Swap to put 2
Damage counters on him, use Cowardice to put Tentacool back into your hand,
thus removing the damage, and put him back on the Bench so you can do it
again next turn. If you have 4 of them on your Bench, you can remove up to 80
Damage every single turn! I recommend having a Chansey or other high HP
Pokémon take the last spot on your Bench, so if over 80 Damage is done to
your Defending Pokémon, you can Damage Swap to Chansey and Potion it away.
This makes high HP Actives nearly invincible, and is a must-have for the
No-Energy Stall Deck. And Tentacool is a common, making him easy to get! With
Tentacool, even Onix can kick butt! I'd say, all in all, that Tentacool is
one of the best Pokémon cards around, at least as far as the Damage Swap
decks are concerned. So maybe one of the cards everyone considers useless
isn't that useless, after all.
