Hello, I am the Pokejedi.

Today I will be looking at the Grimer/Muk evolution and their Rocket
counterparts.

Floats in the cards with the force

Okay let's look at the cards shall we.

Grimer:
Basic Pokemon    50 HP
Type: Grass
[C]  Nasty Goo: [10]   Flip a coin if heads the defending Pokemon is now
paralyzed.
[G]  Minimize: All damage done by attacks to Grimer during you opponent's
next turn is reduced by 20 ( after applying weakness and resistance)
Weakness: Psychic
Resistance: None
Retreat: 1

Hmm, pretty good.  Nasty goo is a great attack for one colorless.  And
minimize can keep him out there a while.

Next....

Muk
Stage 1 Pokemon Evolves from Grimer.   70 HP
type: Grass
Pokemon Power: Toxic Gas: Ignore all Pokemon powers except toxic gases.  This
power stops working when Muk is asleep, confused, or paralyzed.
[GGG] Sludge [30] Flip a coin if heads the defending Pokemon is now poisoned.
Weakness: Psychic
Resistance: None
Retreat: 2

WOW!!!! A Pokemon power that shuts off Pokemon powers!!!  Most decks nowadays
will be killed by this.  his HP is decent and Sludge is a fairly good attack.
Now for the Rocket cards.

Grimer    Basic Pokemon  40 HP
Type: Grass
[G] Poison Gas  The defending Pokemon is now asleep
[GG] Sticky Hands [10+]  Flip a coin if heads this attack does 10 damage plus
20 more damage and the defending Pokemon is now paralyzed; if tails this
attack does 10 damage.
weakness: Psychic
resistance: None
Retreat: 1

The downgrade in HP is not good, and poison gas is supposed to poison.
Sticky hands is useful, but only if you flip heads.  If you flip tails it's
just an expensive way of doing 10 damage.  Overall, stick with the fossil.

Now onto the next one.

Dark Muk Stage one Evolves from Grimer       60 HP
Type: Grass
Pokemon Power: Sticky Goo As long as Dark Muk is your active Pokemon, your
opponent pays 2 energy more to retreat his or her active Pokemon.  This power
stops working when Dark Muk is asleep, confused, or paralyzed
[GG] Sludge Punch [20] The defending Pokemon is now poisoned.
Weakness: Psychic
Resistance: None
Retreat: 2

Cool, This card will start a new breed of anti retreat decks.  The HP is
lower than his fossil counterpart, but that will be expected of Pokemon in
this expansion.  His one attack, Sludge Punch, is great for 2 energy,
providing 20 damage and instant poison.

Good Combos: Dark Muk+ Dark Dugtrio: make retreating risky
Dark Muk+ Dodrio: stop your opponent's retreat while making yours easier.

Bad Combos:  Muk+ Ditto:  very obvious
Muk+ your Pokemon powers: also obvious

Well that's my report
