Overlooked Pokemon
TR Machamp
By ShanD

Hello. I am reporting about a Pokemon that may be overlooked, Dark
Machamp. It may seem a little wimpy . . . but the line is everything
BUT wimpy!

First, the TR Machop card.

  Basic Pokemon
  Machop           50 HP  (F)

  (C)(C)   Punch           20

  (F)(C)   Kick            30
   (C)

  weakness   resistance   retreat
    (P)                    (C)

Looks pretty wimpy at first sight. But look
harder. It has that nearly required 1 (C) energy for a Basic Pokemon that
evolves. Punch and Kick are good. Slap a DCE on Machop, and Punch on the
first turn. Then throw on the (F) energy, and start Kicking until Machop
gets weak. Then throw on a Dark Machoke, and start wrecking havoc on Benched
Pokemon.
Machop's rating. . . 6.0 out of 10.0  A good starter for Early Game.

   Evolves from Machop
   Dark Machoke         60 HP  (F)

(F)(F)(C) Drag Off: Before doing damage, choose 1 of  your opponent's
Benched Pokemon, and switch it with the Defending Pokemon. Do the damage to
the new Defending Pokemon. This attack can't be used if your opponent has no
Benched Pokemon.

(F)(F)(C)  Knock Back: If your opponent has any       benched Pokemon, he
or she chooses 1 of them, and switches it with the Defending
Pokemon. (Do the damage before switching the Pokemon.)

           weakness       resistance     retreat cost
              (P)                           (C)(C)

This card lets you have lots of fun with the bench. There are 2 solid
attacks, witch both need the same amount of energy. Drag Off is GREAT when
you are against Syther, one of the most common cards in play. Drag Off also
is a Anti-Retreat. If your opponent retreats because that Pokemon would be
weak against Dark Machoke, or doesn't have much HP left, Drag it off, then
on your next turn, Knock it Back. Drag Off
is like a damaging Gust Of Wind. Knock Back is also pretty good. If played
right, it can be like a Gust of Wind, but with KOing the
Defending Pokemon with it! But the HP is weak for a Stage 1.
Dark Machoke's rating . . . 7.5 out of 10.0   Good attacks, but sub-par
HP.

Now, for Dark Machamp, with it's Fling ability, is able to make games
much quicker!

   Evolves from Dark Machoke
   Dark Machamp                 70 HP

   (F)(F)      Mega Punch          30

   (F)(F) Fling: Your opponent shuffles
(F)(C) his or her active PKMN and all
cards attached to it into his
or her deck. This attack can't
be used if your opponent has no
          Benched PKMN.

Wow, look at that card. I will just go into Pros and Cons.

--------------------------------------------------------
   PROS                     |  CONS
Is able to Fling Pokemon   |  Fling costs quite a few
into deck.                  |energy.
Can Mega Punch opponent's  |  Not enough HP for a
final Pokemon to death.     |Stage 2.
Fling can get rid of       |  Psy Weakness
Fighting Resistance PKMN    |  High Retreat
-------------------------------------------------------

Look at those pros for a sec. Then you will start
to see Dark Machamp's power. Then look at the Cons.
Good, and bad. But the good makes up for the bad.
Dark Machamp's rating: 9.0   Psy Weakness and low HP for a stage 2
keeps it from a 10.0.

Overall rating: 7.5  Great family, but fairly high Energy requirements
for the Pokemon.
