Alakazam.  He has one of the best pokemon powers in the game.  I even have
one deck based around him, but I am here to tell you that he is not that
good.  First off, he has to evolve twice, or once with use of a pokemon
breeder.  And guess what?  Alakazam has to evolve from Abra, and that little
pokemon only has 30HP.  Sure, if you get him out and have a pokemon center in
hand with some other decent attackers with ok hp you have basically won.  But
think about Aerodactyl.  He can stop you from evolving your abra up the chain
of evolution to its full potential.  Also, think about Muk.  He can come at
any time and completely mess up your strategy.  Muk turns off all pokemon
powers, except for his, of course.  But let me give you some hope.  The good
thing is that Muk/Grimer have weakness to psychic!  So if you are smart and
have a couple Jynx in your deck, then you should have no problem dealing with
those pokemon if you get a couple shots at them.  Well, I do not mean to
discourage people with psychic decks out there with an Alakazam or more in
them, but I think you can find this information very useful if you ever play
in a large tounament.  The thing to do if you see a lot of Muk or Aerodactyl
against you a lot is to metagame.  You should put in Jynx to put the beat
down on those pokemon, and put in two or more gust of winds in to get them
out.  WelI I hope this will come of some use to you one day, and thanks for
reading!!!
