POKEMON LAB
CINNABAR ISLAND
2-20-00
{You enter the lab, and you see a man dressed in a lab coat holding a
small box}
Prof. Wolf: Hey all you Pokemaniacs out there! Finally got my upgrade for
the Neo Pokemon. Oh, I can't wait!!
    {Slips the disk into the PokeDex TCG 2000.}
PokeDex TCG 2000: Upgrading Systems...Upgrade Complete.
Prof. Wolf: Yay, now lets take a look see. Wow, so many new Pokemon! Why
don't we start with the starting Fire-Type Family. Oh, and to the readers of
the best magazine and website about the Pokemon TCG,  Pojo, this is a
translation of the Hinoarashi from the pack of Neo, not the Promo. PokeDex,
bring up the Hinoarashi family.
    {The cards for the Hinoarashi Family appear on the PokeDex's screen.}
    Hinoarashi
    Fire
    50HP
    Attacks: R: Fireworks 20
Effect: Flip a coin. If tails, discard one R Energy from this card.
    CC: Quick Attack 10+
Effect: Flip a coin. If heads, this attack does 20 more damage.
    Weakness: Water
    Retreat: -C

Prof. Wolf: Great Basic for a Fire Pokemon. Its like Blaine's Ninetales,
it doesn't make you dicard a R Energy and it does 20 damage. Quick Attack is
pretty good too.

    Magumarashi
    Fire
    70HP
    Attacks: RR: Smokescreen 20
Effect: On your opponent's next turn, they must flip a coin to attack. If
tails, they cannot attack.
    RRR: Burn 30
Effect: If the opponent's Pokemon does not have a Burn Marker, flip a
coin. If heads, put a Burn Marker on the opponent's Pokemon. After your
opponent's turn, but before your turn, they must make an individual coin flip
for each of their Pokemon with Burn Markers on them. If tails, that Pokemon
is dealt 20 damage, and this damage is not affected by Weakness, Resistance,
Pokemon Powers, or any other effects.
    Weakness: Water
    Retreat: -C

Prof. Wolf: Wow, another great Fire Pokemon! Burn will certainly defeat
already damaged Pokemon, and it would make a great opening in a Fire/Psychic
Deck using Maguamarashi and Gengar. Smokescreen is a great stall too. Now, on
to the next Evoulution!

    Bakufun
    Fire
    100HP
    Pokemon Power: Fire Recharge
Effect: This Power can be use once per turn. Flip a coin. If heads, take
a Fire Energy from your Discard Pile and attach to one of your Fire Pokemon
in play.
    Attack: RRRR: Burst Flame 60
Effect: Flip a coin. If heads, this attack does 20 more damage and deals
20 damage to this Pokemon.
    Weakness: Water
    Retreat: -CC

Prof. Wolf: I thought I'd never see another strong Pokemon Family
Evoulution! Bakufun can really help build up your bench with Fire Energy and
Burst Flame is a great attack! One thing I've notice about this whole
Evoulution line is that most of the attacks and power rely on Coin Flips. I
don't really think thats too good, but the effects are worth it!! Maybe I'll
do a little Neo Card thing for the rest of the month and part of next month,
its fun! Well, until next time, see ya!!!
