Hi

I just recently got a Promo Venusaur card from the Pokemon Trading Card Game
Strategy Guide.

Venusaur Stage 2, from Ivysaur
Grass Pokemon, 100HP
Weakness: Fire
Resistance:
Retreat Cost: 2 colorless
Pokemon Power: Solar Power
Once during your turn, you may use this power. Your active pokemon and the
defending pokemon are now longer asleep, confused, paralyzed, or poisoned.
You cannot use this if Venusaur is asleep, confused, or paralyzed.
GGGG: Mega Drain 40
Remove the number of damage counters equal to half of the damage done to the
defending pokemon(after applying weakness and resistance)(rounded to the
nearest ten). If Venusaur has fewer counters than that, remove all of them.

Pretty good PP, and Mega Drain isn't that bad.

Here's a few combos i immediate thought of:

Venusaur+Gloom: You can confuse the defending pokemon, but right after their
turn, your not confused anymore. Just keep using foul odor!

Venusaur+Vileplume: Up to 120 damage for 3 grass energy, and you wont be
confused!

Venusaur+Active pokemon against something with one of those status effects:
Well, kinda obvious, not much of a combo.

Venusaur+Mr.Mime/Alakazam combo: Don't have to worry about Mr.Mime killing
itself by confusion, or poison. Nidoking is still a problem....

Venusaur+TR Drowzee: Don't have to worry about putting your own active
pokemon to sleep.
