Hello out there, Pojo fans and fellow Pokemon nuts!!  This is Psy with a
reveiw of the one card that nobody can figure out the translation.  I do
speak and read Japanese, so I'll write it the way I translated it.  Oh, and
I really don't care if you argue with my translation, WOTC may decide to
print it a different way...it would totally screw my idea for a deck up,
though...Here it is-the legendary monster that for some stupid reason it's
appearence means the destruction of earth-Lugia!!!

Luiga-Basic pokemon HP90

F W E  Elemental Blast  90
Discard one Fire, Water or Electric
Energy attached to Lugia in order
to use this attack.

Weakness:   Resistance:  Reatreat Cost:
Psychic        Ground         Two Energy

First off-the upsides:  He does a 90 damage attack, for the price of
(Hopefully) one energy.  HP is high for a basic, and Resistance to ground is
nothing to laugh about.  He can also attack on turn two with the right
draw-using base set Electrode's Buzzap power.

Okay, now the bad sides:  The weakness; it won't do that good, even though
hae can knock out any Psychic Pokemon in one hit.  The energy colors; it may
be hard to get sufficent energy in your first draw, or get that
Voltorb/Electrode line out fast.  Retreat cost is high, just like most of
the birds.  Energy removal will crush this guy, too.

Okay, so it seems the bad outnumber the good:  Dodrio is a Pokemon Worth
putting in your deck for the energy color (None), and a Vileplume, TR, of
course, can help with those stupid Energy Removals, even though they aren't
stupid when you use them.  Sufficent energy is a problem, but Energy Search
can help, unless you have a Vileplume.  Include Oaks in your deck, as they
hepl with energy, too.  There's just one problem: the weakness.  The only
playble Psychic Pokemon that can knock him out in one hit is Kadabra.  Dang
Kadabras!!!  No offense.

Well, hey, who knows what the future sets will be.  Maybe something that can
help with discarding energy, such as a card the says:
"You may not discard any energy for the rest of your turn."  Maybe a Pokemon
Power will help.  maybe a new Lugia will come out-as a League Promo or
something.  The only this that can really ruin this guy is if WOTC changes
the translation to "discard all the energy cards attached to Lugia in order
to attack."  That would be REALLY annoying.  Well, I better stop typing and
think of new card strategies.  This Psy saying goodbye and don't forget to
train your Pokemon with love and trust and not stupid rare candies.  See
'ya!!
