This is a comparison. Which is better, Gambler or
Professor Oak? Now, before I get hate mail saying
"GAMBLER SUX!" in my inbox repeated umpteen times,
let's make a fair comparison.

PROFESSOR OAK
Discard your hand, then draw 7 cards.

WOW! An awesome card! Got nothing in your hand but
crud? Oak it away, then cleanup with Nightly Garbage
Run, and you've got a killer combo. However, if you
don't have NGR, you may lose a good card (such as that
Blastoise, a Hitmonchan, a Venusaur) to the discard
pile.

GAMBLER
Shuffle your hand into your deck, then flip a coin. If
heads, draw 8 cards; if tails, draw 1 card.

ANOTHER AWESOME CARD! With this, you don't lose a
thing to the trash! However, there is the coin flip;
you could potentially get just 1 card. If you're good
at flipping heads, though, you can get the extra card
that Oaking wouldn't have gotten you.

Now, who wins out? Actually, it's a tie; you lose
cards to the discard pile with Oak, but you may not
get as many cards with Gambler. Personally, I use
Gambler, but, with the luck I have, I'll more than
likely switch to Oak (I'm good at flipping TAILS.)
