To Pojo.com - Please post this article, because I have worked long and hard
on it, and I have never had any of my articles posted before on this site.

Here I am taking a look at the card of Dark Vileplume.

First its stats.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Name: Dark Vileplume
Type: Grass
Stage: Stage 2 -- from Dark Gloom
HP: 60
Weakness: Fire
Resistance: none
Retreat: 2
Power: Hay Fever - No Trainer cards can be played. This power stops working
while Dark Vileplume is Asleep, Confused, or Paralyzed.
Attacks:

GGG - Petal Whirlwind (30x) Flip 3 coins. This attack does 30 damage times
the number of heads. If you get 2 or more heads, Dark Vileplume is now
confused (after dealing damage).

-----------------------------------------------------------

The first thing you will notice about this card is its power, Hay fever!
This card has massive potential. A new archetype is arising from this card.
It is good against Rain dance (No more Pokemon Breeder), Wigglytuff decks
(No more Challenge), Damage Swap (No more Pokemon breeder, like raindance),
Haymaker (No Energy Removal), and virtually all decks will be at some kind
of disadvantage even if it is just not being allowed to play the odd Potion
or Bill!

Its attack is interesting. Comparing it to Vileplume's Petal Dance, I will
use the point system.

-----------------------------------------------------------
Damage: Vileplume can do 40 x 3 coin flips, Dark Vileplume can do 30 x 3
coin flips. Vileplume wins.

Vileplume      Dark Vileplume
1              0

-----------------------------------------------------------
Side effects: Vileplume will confuse itself, Dark Vileplume has a half
chance of confusing itself. Dark Vileplume wins.

Vileplume      Dark Vileplume
1              1

-----------------------------------------------------------
Energy requirements: Both require three grass energy. A draw.

Vileplume      Dark Vileplume
2              2

-----------------------------------------------------------
Conclusion: Both attacks are quite good, so it doesn't matter which one you
prefer.
-----------------------------------------------------------

Its 2 retreat cost is quite good for a Stage 2. However it has tripe HP, 60
is just not good enough for a Stage 2. And if you think Kabutops has a bad
60 HP for a Stage 2, remember he can heal himself by Absorbing.

In a Dark Vileplume deck, I think there are only 3 types of trainer cards
needed: Pokemon Breeder, Full Heal and Bill. The Pokemon breeder is for...
well you can work it out,  bill is for card drawing before dark vileplume is
out.
A strategy that I made myself was that when Dark vileplume becomes confused
by its own attack, its power will stop working. So If you have any trainers
in your hand that you want to use, use them (like bill and pokemon breeder)
then use full heal to get dark vileplume un-confused so its power will work
again!

I also think Scyther is handy in a Dark Vileplume deck. (because it can use
swords dance because it's a grass deck)

Combos:

Dark Vileplume and Full Heal/Full Heal Energy: Dark Vileplume is confused by
its own attack an its power is off? Not anymore!

Dark Vileplume and Pokemon Breeder: Get him out early to prevent further
trainers being used.

Anyway, I've got to go.
thank you
