Hey there Pojo fans.

I would like to post an article comparing the Eevee family (Flareon,
Jolteon, and Vaporeon).

Choosing which one you'd like to use is a matter of taste. Fire fans
would stick with Flareon.  People fond of electric pokémon will do fine
with Jolteon. Vaporeon is perfect for those who like water pokémon (such
as I). As long as you enjoy using at least one of these type of pokémon,
there will be an Eevee evolution that will suit your mood.

But what if you're making a mono-colored deck using an evolved form of
Eevee and don't know which is better? You could use an Eevee evolution of
the type you like but what if you don't care which type you're using?
Here is where this article comes in handy.

Many people like to start comparisons starting with their Hit Points
(HP).  Flareon and Jolteon both have equal HP (70) but Vaporeon is up
ahead with 80 HP. For now, Vaporeon is the better pokémon.

The next thing to compare is their attacks. All of them have Quick Attack
as their first attack so we'll go straight to their second attack.
Flareon has Flamethrower. It requirements are FF11 and it causes 60 HP
damage but you need to discard a Fire Energy. Jolteon's second attack is
Pin Missile. With LL1, you can flip four coins and for each head is 20 HP
damage. Vaporeon knows Water Gun. WW1 is required to do the attack,
causing 30 HP damage, but with each additional Water Energy, you can do
an extra 10 HP damage, 20 HP being the max you can add on. Right now,
Flareon's attack seems to be the best but before we confirm that, we need
to take a closer look.

Let's take a quick look at their energy requirements. Flareon needs FF11,
Jolteon requires LL1, and Vaporeon has to have at least WW1. Although
Flareon needs the most energy cards, it causes the most damage on average
(60 HP). Jolteon needs one less energy to do its attack but with lucky
coin flips, it can cause a max of 80 HP damage. Vaporeon needs the same
energy requirements as Jolteon (switch the LL with WW). However, it only
causes a measly 30 HP damage. By adding on WW, you can increase the
damage dealt by 20. Still, that's only 50 HP damage and Flareon causes
more damage than that with one less energy card. By looking at their
energy requirements, Jolteon might have better attacks, but energy
requirements aren't everything.

Now let's take a look at how their attacks are used. When Flareon uses it
attack, it cause 60. However, you must discard a Fire Energy. Jolteon
let's you flip four coins but since you have a 50 / 50 chance of getting
heads, on average you'll get two (causing 40 HP damage). Vaporeon can
cause 50 all the time with WWWW1 but that's five energy cards. But think
about this. Flareon has to constantly discard a Fire Energy to do 60 so
eventually it will use more than five energy cards. Jolteon has to be
lucky to cause 60 or 80 HP damage and if you aren't, you might only flip
one or even zero heads. Vaporeon can always cause 50 damage without
discarding energy or flipping coins. At the end, I think Vaporeon has a
better second attack.

Well, that's the end of my article. It might be long but for those who
want to know which of these Eevee evolutions are better, you might be
intrigued with this article. For those of you who just like to skip all
the text and go straight to who's better, it's Vaporeon.
