Okay, let me say that Koffing is one of the most overlooked cards, in my opinion, in the entire TCG game. Probably in the TV show and Gameboy game, too...but that's off the subject. Anyway, let's look at Koffing: _________________________________________ | | | Basic Pokemon | | KOFFING 50 HP (Leaf) | | _____________________________________ | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | (Koffing) | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |_____________________________________| | | |Poison Gas Pokemon. Lg: 2'0 Wt. 2| | | ----------------------------------- | | | | | | FOUL GAS Flip a coin. If | | (LL) heads, the Defending Pokemon (10)| | is now Poisoned; if tails, it is | | now Confused | | | | | |_________________________________________| | Weakness Resistance Retreat | | (Psy) (1) | | _______________________________________ | ||Because it stores several kinds of || ||toxic gasses in it's body, it is prone || ||to exploding without warning LV.13 #109|| ||---------------------------------------|| |_________________________________________| PROS: 1. Basic Pokemon 2. 50 HP (Okay, not much of a pro...) 3. Leaf pokemon, so it goes well with the new Jungle cards. 4. Foul gas either poisons or confueses, plus 10 damage 5. Weakness to Psychic (Not a very popular color). 6. Retreat cost of 1. CONS: 1. 50 HP (Okay, not much of a con...) 2. Takes TWO GRASS energy to use it's attack. Now, may I remind you, Poison inflicts 10 damage after EACH player's turn, including the turn that you poisoned the defending Pokemon on. That adds up quick. Trust me. As for confusion, that makes the defending pokemon have a much harder time retreating, plus the pokemon can hurt itself when it's attacking (Which, by the way, CANCELS the attack...) for 20 damage. 40 if it's a Psychic Pokemon (Great against Mr. Mime). Finally, the two status effects can add up. The defending Pokemon can be poisoned AND confused at the same time. So you see, Koffing doesn't attack directly, he just inflicts two of the best status effects (In my opinion) so that the defending Pokemon kills itself. I made a Grass deck for a friend and we both entered a tourney just yesterday. This was my friend's first tourney, and he placed second! There were about 30-40 people there, too. "How could he place second on his first tourney?!" you ask? Koffing. His deck had 3 or 4 (I made it, by the way). So the next time you make a deck, include Koffing. Possibly Tangela, too, since it compliments Koffing very nicely...but that's another article. ~Koffing Guy (A.K.A.
