He might be the best card in your opinion and I'm not telling you anything,
but I'm just telling you to look at the other Pokémon Cards. Because Scyther,
I have come to found is very annoying, because you need a leaf energy if you
want to double his attack + you have to wait to attack.  The Key things of
good Pokemon Are: HP, ATTACKS, WHEATER IT'S A BASIC POKEMON, STALLING
(maybe), and ATTACKING EARLY ON.  Here's some Pokémon who are all-around
greats of the Game:

Mr. Mime- Basic, Great Staller (KEY THING because you can wait to attack)
Jigglypuff- Basic, 60HP (great for a Basic pokémon) and does put Pokémon to
sleep not to mention it also does pound costing 2 C Energy to knock them in
their sleep.
Hitmonchan-Basic, 70HP, Can attack with 1 fighting energy doing 20 Damage.
Kangaskhan-Basic, 90HP, GREAT STALLER, Draws a card for you, and Can do
anywhere from 0-80 damage costing 4 C energy.
Primeape- Stage 1 (not so bad as we think), 70HP, and does an attack that
does 0-60 damage costing 3 Energy and also does 50 damage but can confuse him.
Chansey- 120HP, Greatest (maybe) Staller, Does an attack that does 80 Damage
to itself and opponent but you can get a 2 for 1 deal because most Pokémon
don't have 90 or more HP.
Clefable- Stage 1, 70HP, Can Confuse an opponent to doing 100 damage costing
1 energy WOW!!!!!!!
