I cant believe some of the stuff I'm hearing. Most is about farfetched, chansey, and charizard. I want to clear this up from the start - THERE IS NO PERFECT CARD.I know some are better than others, but ALL cards have some disadvantage. Here are several for farfetchd- 1. It only has 50 HP! definitely not worth 3 energies. 2. Its first attack only works once, has 50% chance of failing, and if it works only does30. 3. it takes 3 energy to definitely do 30.Dewgong, kadabra, and gyarados do 50 for 3 energy. 4. "but its colorless!"- SO WHAT?its not the only colorless, and I can sure think of better. CHANSEY AND CHARIZARD I think too many people look at the numbers and dont think about the cards' disadvantages(Which are pretty big) I will say that i'd probably use the charizard before chansey, though. I think that effects of attacks can be good, if not better than, the attacks themselves. Take venomoth - It only takes 2 energy, but has a good attack and lots of HP. first, it can use its pokemon power - shift - to change its type to that of any in play. If your opponent's weakness matches the type of a pokemon on either bench(which it normally does)you deal twice as much(which, unfortunately, is only 20). But if you flip a coin and get heads, your opponent is confused AND poisoned. Once that happens, he'll deteriorate quickly. Also fast attack is a good strategy because you have a smaller chance of being stranded without energy(most fast pokemon have a low energy cost)and you get the upper hand in the beginning, giving him no time to recover and build up his pokemon. He will be spending all his resources trying to catch up. The only downside is that fast pokemon are generally weaker, and if he manages to recover and catch up he can take the lead. some fast evolution pokemon are- Raichu, Venomoth, Eevee evolutions, and pretty much any stage 1. Fast, good basics include hitmonchan, electabuzz, and jynx. I've also noticed that when you have a lot of evolution, you cant have too many different cards, and cant have a lot of stage twos. Why? If you have beedrills, venusaurs, nidokings, dewgongs , blastoises, gyarados, etc, It becomes EXTREMELY difficult to get corresponding basics and evolutions. I normally use 1 or 2 stage 2s and 4 or 5 total different cards.EX - My deck has nidokings(st 2), raichus(st 1), jolteons(st 1), electrodes(st 1), and venomoths(st 1). Also you need more than 1.If you have 1 alakazam, its hard to get it out. I like to pyramid my evolutions, too.EX - 2 nidoking, 3 nidorino, 4 nidoran. For every stage of evolution, I have one more of the previous evolution. Hope I helped you - If you want to argue with me(And I've heard ENOUGH about chansey, farfetch'd, and charizard) Write me at "souper245@aol.com"
