-take 3 super potions with you (-3 cards from hand) -one revive, for discarded cards (-1 card from hand) -have a vileplume or a blastoise when fighting charizard -have a full heal in your hand, for vileplume only (-1 card) -have a few energy removals(-1 to -2 cards) -have a lotta luck, if your using vileplume -have two extra water energy cards and a defender, for blastoise -if they dont have psycic pokemon, use mr.mime

once charizard appears and k-o's your pokemon, switch with vileplume and use petal dance, if youre lucky you have defeated charizard by flipping 3 heads, if youve only done 40 damage or 80, use revive, and one super potion. bring it back out and use energy removals equal to charizards no energy time. (probably 2) then use petal dance once more and charizard will probably be defeated. if not, he can't attack or retreat without energy cards, unless he is using his pokemon power or switch, or scoop up. from there attack it again, and that was one way to defeat charizard.

blastoise, when fighting him, use defender and keep blastoise alive, then on your turn, attack it with two extra water energy cards, charizards weakness is water, so hydro pump will do double damage knocking out charizard with 120 Hit points.

with a pokemon out attack it, and when defeated by charizard, bring out mr.mime, who can not be killed by it. use meditate and double the number of damage counters +1, repeat this until charizard has fainted.

to block it off from attacking with energy removals, use a super energy removal twice, discarding two energy cards, it is now blocked off from attacking and retreating, switch pokemon by retreating and sending out another pokemon that could defeat it at 4 hits,so it doesn't keep using it's pokemon power so it doesnt attack or retreat.that was the final stategy for defeating charizard.
