Dear Pojo, I would like to compare Poliwrath to Blastoise and show it's advantages and weaknesses. Let me show the Stats of Poliwrath and Blastoise first. Blastoise: Type: Water Evolution: Stage 2 Hp: 100 PokePower: As often as you like during your turn (before you attack)you may attach 1 WATER energy card to one of your WATER pokemon. Cannot be used if Blastoise is asleep, paralyzed or confused. Attack 1: Hydro Pump(WWW). Does 40 damage plus 10 more damage for each WATER energy on Blastoise but not used to pay for this attack's energy cost. Extra Water energy after the 2nd doesn't count. Weakness: Electric Resistance: none Retreat Cost: 3 Poliwrath: Type: Water Evolution: stage 2 Hp: 90 Attack 1: Water Gun (WWC). Does 30 damage plus 10 more damage for each WATER energy on Poliwtath but not used to pay for this attack's energy cost. Extra Water energy after the 2nd doesn't count. Attack 2: Whirlpool (WWCC). If the depening pokemon has any energy cards attached to it, choose one of them and discard it. Weakness: Grass Resistance: none Retreat Cost: 3 First off Poliwrath is a WAY overlooked card. Everyone likes Blastoise because he is more popular in the Pokemon TV show and GB game. No one ever uses Poliwrath becuase he is not half as popular as Blastoise. Okay they are both stage 2. blastoise has only 10 Hp than Poliwrath but 90 HP is still better than lots of pokemon. Okay blastoise has a PokePower and states that he can move a WATER energy to a WATER pokemon. That means that Blastoise cannot work in a multicolour deck, unlike PoliWrath. Poliwrath's attacks use 2 Water energy and 1 or 2 colourless energy so it can be used well with any other colour as a main water hitter. Poliwrath's second attack, Whirlpool is in my opinion the ultimate water attack. It has an afordable energy cost and a unique effect of discarding. 40 isn't a bad damage count either. They are both weak against unpopular pokemon so i wont make much comments about it. In my opinion, Poliwrath is better (as i said it is my opinion so dont send me death treats about this). Why? Even though i think they are both equally good in skill, poliwrath can work well with other colours and 2 colours are always better than one. Blastoise in the other hand is an all-water pokemon, withattack that needs water energy only and a PokePower that supports Water pokemon. I hope this has change your mind about Poliwrath. PLease post this up on your site Pojo. Thanx for your time. -Roger Kiang (r_kiang68@hotmail.com)- ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com
