I am typing to the Pojo crowd today over the over-use of
evolutionary Pokémon and the under-use of basics. One card I can't say 
enough good things about is good ole' Farfetch'd! All the people I
know say the same old thing when I preach about Farfetch'd. They say their 
Super-Duper, Macho Holofoil could kill it in one turn. Well,
DUH! I'm saying my Farfetches could take on a Charizard. Let's say you start 
out with a draw of 2 Farfetch'd, 2 Double Colorless, and 3 Energy of any 
color. Your oppenent starts out with (I'm being SUPER optimistic here)1 
Charmander, 1 Charmeleon, 1 Charizard,and 4 Red Energy. You lay down your 2 
Farfetch'd, he puts down his Charmander. You offer your oppenent first turn, 
your so nice! He puts down his energy, draws another Red Energy and uses 
scratch. Your turn,  you put down a colorless energy on a benched Farfetch'd 
and draw a another Farfetch'd. Your opponent laughs and draws another Red. 
Puts down a red and uses Scratch. You draw an Energy and put it on the one 
before. Your opponent draws another Red energy,
and lays it  on, evolves and uses Slash. He points out that your Farfetch'd 
is knocked out and that him, not you gets to draw a prize. You bring in your 
fully pumped Farfetch'd, draw a Double Colorless, lay it on a benched one, 
and use Pot Smash which deals 30. He draws a Red Energy, slaps down an 
Energy on his Charmeleon, evolves into Charizard and uses Fire Spin .He 
snickers and draws a prize. You send out the Farfetch'd with the Double, 
draw a Farfetch'd, lay an Energy on your active Farfetch'd and use Pot 
Smash. He draws a Red and puts it on the energy guzzling Charizard.
You draw an energy,  put your last Double Colorless on a benched Farfetch'd, 
and use Pot Smash. He gets a Red, plays it and uses Fire Spin. He starts 
crying because you bring out you Farfetch'd with the Double, play an energy 
that you drew, and KILL his Charizard. You won the game! And Farfetch'd 
isn't the only real good basic. I can name plenty! Chansey, Clefairy, 
Porygon, and many others! I think that WotC should recall all Farfetches and 
put Holofoil backing on them so there might be ore than a couple of good 
Holofoils.
