I am late in my recent arguments, as I have limited access to the 
internet--school and friends houses.  Anyways...?!...WHAT!?!?!?!??!
YES, the basic Pokemon does have a lot to do with the Pokemon's evolved 
form!  I'm sorry, but Seel has a better chance of surviving than 
Magikarp--yuck, I hate to speak his name--I mean, basic Pokemon have a major 
deciding factor in who and what you evolve.
