Howdy everybody, I'm blabbing about Gyarados today. He's my favorite and handiest next to Farfetch'd (and don't get me started on him!). I think that Gyarados should be in every major water deck, unless it has a specific strategy. I'm saying this for several reasons. #1: He is not weak against electric(as Tyler Grund pointed out in a response to an article). Electric almost always rips through a part water deck. #2: He is resistant to fighting(also as Tyler Grund poitned out). Almost every deck is part fighting nowadays. #3: He has the highest Hit Points for a Stage 1 only tied by Arcanine. This means you can get out this hard hitting Pokémon and not have him killed right off by a large Stage 2. #4: He IS a Stage 1. Most Pokémon his size and power are Stage 2's. This means it takes a minimum of 2 cards in a deck to play him, him and Magikarp(his weak little brother). Others his size take 3, the basic, the Stage 1 and the Stage 2. #5: Plus there is a psycological side to it all. The card is a holographic, shiny HOLOFOIL. I love the sound of that!. Holofoils almost always incite fear in your opponent. When was the last time you didn't sweat when your enemy pulled out one of these shiny critters? I usually use Gyarados in pairs. Having one on the bench and one kicking butt is the best way to do it. When gets do about 50 HP, retreat him. Bring in the other one and use potions or a superpotion to get him ready while you charge him back up. The only way to get by this is to throw in a gust of wind to screw this up. I'm signing off now and I'll see you later!
