Dear pojo,

yes even after 40 emails a day, I STILL make time to write an article or 
two.

This Is in response to JSW's praise article about farfetch'd.

    I would like to start by congratulaiting JSW on a good job in finding 
the best pokemon in the game.  In MANY of my quick takes or deck 
deconstructions, I explained reasons for Loving this Basic colorless 
Pokemon, but I would like to seal them in cement right here.

1. Colorless pokemon:)  EVERY BIT OF ATTACK WILL GET THROUGH (except for 
pumped Onix or defender) but the majority of the time, his damage gets 
through guaranteed.

2. 50HP.  even though there ARE basic pokemon with higher HP, 50 becomes a 
very obnoxious number.  it takes a most pokemon at least 3 attacks to kill 
him.  This can even be enhanced with potions.

3. RESISTANCE TO FIGHT!!  this is actually the best reason to play with this 
guy.  With the mettagame showing SO much fighting, its almost a guarantee 
that MOST of the decks will have at least oNE pokemon thats brown.   This 
becomes a bitch for the oppponent.

4. attacks are spectacular. other than nadirin, farfetch'd is really the 
only pokemon that can get a first turn kill, w/o concidering weaknesses.  If 
you flip a coin correctly, thats a first turn 30...with a dbl colorless in 
your hand, thats a 30 damage for SURE the following turn.  60 damage in two 
turns? thats nasty.

  I must, out of fairness mention his weaknesses:  He IS weak to electric, 
which is ALSO all over the tourny scene.  this hurts him, but Since the 
biggest threat is electribuzz, there shouldn't be much of a worry, Even with 
weakness, it STill takes an electrabuzz 2 turns to sack a farfetch'd...so 
your birdy can retreat with that one energy retreat cost....nice:)   the 
other flaw in farfetch'd is his energy requirement. IF you DONT have a dbl 
colorless, he can become a sitting duck against a energy removal deck.

Even with the weaknesses, I stand my ground that Farfetch'd is really the 
best Basic Pokemon in the Base set of Pokemon:)
