I recently went over all of the arguments over the Charizard and Chansey fight. There is only one thing that both sides have wrong. BOTH CHANSEY AND CHARIZARD ARE BAD!!!! NEITHER ARE THE BEST IN THE GAME RIGHT NOW!!! Here's why: 1. Both of them take 4 ENERGY to attack. and even then, you have draw backs. Charizard makes you discard 2 ENERGY CARDS, so if you use the double colorless trick, it won't work. And Chancey does 80 DAMAGE to itself. That means at best he'll have 40 HP left, if not more. 2. Bigger is not exactly better. Look at the retreat costs. Charizard has three, so after one attack he can't even retreat. Chancy also has a 3 retreat cost, so even if you do retreat, your Chancy has 1 energy left unles you put on extra, which would kinda be bad because you only get so many energy and it could energy ***** over the rest of your pokemon. 3. The combs with both cards are partially decent. For Charizard, even if you try the Venusaur trick, you still have to supply a lot of plant energy, given that you pull off the act of god to get both out at the same time. Any other combos I've seen with Charizard kinda bite. Chancy you can at least try with double colorless energy, but you only can do it so many times. For those that say ******* and super ******** remember that your opponent gets to attack before you can heal him back, which could kill him. And scrunch only works half of the time, which means that he probably has some damage already when he double-edges. 4. Time Delay- It's going to take a while to get either of the to attack. And there are so many different ways of stooping it besides attacking it with their weakness. One of them is speed creatures. SO what if you do 80 damage to something that has 30 HP!!! You might also have to send one out prematurely with out all the energy, thus making them vulnerable to damage. Chancy may have Scrunch, but again, it only works half of the time. Other ways of beating them are stalling (using onix or other big pokemon that can take 80 damage and live) and of course, my favorite in this case, ENERGY REMOVAL!!!! How can it attack with 4 energy if they don't have it? Kinda sucks, doesn't it? There are many other reasons, but I tire of showing the way. Both cards are OK, but that's it. There are chances for other cards to overall be better. Please don't blind yourself to the damage and how much HP they have, because that's not all that counts. Please keep your eyes open, for the best card could be right under your nose! This is the Arlington-Area Champ signing off. Chipmunk e-mail (don't ask about screen name) Ferret81@aol.com P.S. And what about Hitmonchan or Dewgong or Kadabra. They're Pretty good. Try them sometime.
