Hey Pojo, Please post this on single card strategys.

 

In the last two months Ive seen about 30 articles talking about charizard and 25-27 of them say he sucks.  Well I'll tell you why he is the best.  People say charizard sucks for many reasons for example

 

He is an energy waster He discards two energy to do 100 damage.

 

>Any pokemon that does a flamethrower, fire spin or fire blast or ember etc. discards energy but no one ever talks about them. Well Charizard usually works best in mono fire decks and since mono fire decks usually have almost 30 energy and 100 will kill all but a few pokemon discarding 2 of 30 energy for a kill was a great deal last time I chacked, and just throw in energy retrievals and you practically cancel out his discarding thing.

 

Another reason I've heard is he is a stage 2 pokemon 

 

>So do Venusaur and Blastoise but no one ever complains about them.  Venusaur and Blastoise are usually used mainly for their pokemon powers (like dodrio'd retreat aid.) Well back on topic.  So what if charizard is stage 2 look at his basic and stage 1 forms

 

Charmander           F-fire energy    C-colorless energy

Basic Pokemon

50 HP

Scratch 10     C

Ember 30       FC discard one F energy

weakness- water so is every fire type except moltres

great basic 40 in two turns

retreat- C

 

Charmeleon

Stage 1 Pokemon

80 HP

Slash 30  CCC same as the over rated sctyher with 10 more Hp and 1 retreat cost

Flamethrower 50 FFC discard 1 F energy.

weakness- water

retreat- C

Can finish up what Charmander started

 

Charizard

Stage 2 Pokemon

120 HP

Pokemon Power energy burn- if charizard isn't paralyzed, confused or asleep turn all energy on charizard into fire enrgy for the rest of the turn.

Fire Spin- 100  FFFF discard 2 energy to use this attack

weakness-water

resistance- fighting(sorry hitmonchan)

 

In conclusion the Char-evolutions is the best fire evolution in the game, better than Flareon, Arcanine, Ninetales or even the almighty blaines arcanine 120 damage discard 3 energy (thumbs down) If yjr Char evolution isn't in your mono fire deck then you either have the moltres-magmar haymaker or you cant afford a charizard or your too narrow-minded to look over the energy discarding thing. Get over it.

I use a 4-3-2 Char-evolution with 30 fire energy and 4 retrievals I even beat water decks. Try Charizard you might just like it.
