Everyone thinks Gastly is so high a mighy be cause of its Destiny Bond move.

attacks:

[P] Sleeping Gas: Flip a coin heads the defending pokemon s now asleep.

 

[P,C] Destiny Bond: Discard 1 [P] energy in order to use this attack. If a Pokemon knocks out Gastly in his or her next turn, knock out that Pokemon.

 

You can either beat Gastly with any Pokemon really but say your opponent pulls out a Gastly real late in the game and they have the upper advantage, as they have extra prizes left. Let them keep discarding energy using the attack and make them run out of energy, well it wont run them dry but they would atleast use it heaps of times near the end. So if the pull a gastly near the end, let them use destiny bond over and over again untill he is low on energy the knock the little dude out! Also gastly does not deal damage but when it does destiny bond your too scared to attack so he aint need any attacks.

 

Now some deck ideas, stupid unoriginal decks.

 

The best decks are theme decks you buy from the shops. Re-arrange them as you have enough energy from the deck. So lets say you bought an Overgrowth, get a Venusaur and it will be a alright deck, add some trainers and take out the staryu's and starmies. Add another Kakuna and Beedrill and you will have a pretty strong deck. Beedrill maybe rare buts its worth it, with 2 beedrills in your deck and a Venusaur dont worry too much about energy as Venusaur's Pokemon Power Energy trans can just tranfer energy to any pokemon. So you have a Beedrill on the bench with only one energy and a beedrill active and Venusaur also  on the bench. They use SER on ya, next turn use energy trans give him the energy to attack then get it back if he's bouts to get knocked out, good thing about beedrill is it NO RETREAT COST so keep on switching beedrill and you venusaur on the bench with power and you will go alright. Also Pokemon Centre work well with venusaur too.
