Lass

The best way to find a use for a seemingly useless
card is to actually use it in a deck, and that is
exactly what I did.  I put a single Lass card in my
Haymaker just to see if I could find an actual reason
to use it in competitive play.  And you know what, I
believe I have done just that...

If you aren't familiar with the card itself, it is a
rare trainer card that reads, "You and your opponenet
show each other your hands, then shuffle all the
Trainer cards from your hands into your decks."

At first I started to brainstorm as I put the card in
a deck protector sleeve and stuck it in my deck.  The
first thing that came to mind was the fact that you
can (temporarily) get rid of the Trainers your
opponent is holding for a certain situation to occur.
This strategy would involve running a deck with a low
amount of trainers and I already had my deck made
complete with 20+ Trainers.  Then I focused on the
part where it says to shuffle all the Trainer cards
from your hands into your decks...hmmmm

I had a problem with Alakazam/Damage Swap decks lately
and I always seemed to eventually lose in the same
way....getting decked (running out of cards).  I went
out and played every damage swap deck I could and the
results were amazing...I won almost every game I
played that day using Lass.  How you might ask?  Well
when you're up against a damage swap or any stall deck
that tries to make you run out of cards, just hold
your Trainers in your hand unless you absolutely have
to use them.  Bill, Professor Oak, PlusPower, and
sometimes Energy Removal and Super Energy Removal all
piled up in my hand while I waited.  I went from an
all-out attack strategy with my Haymaker to a
defend/retreat strategy to stay alive while I held
onto Trainers.  When my deck was getting too thin for
comfort I would use Lass which would add 10+ cards to
my deck and usually 3-4 cards to my opponents deck.
That was almost always enough to secure the win, not
to mention your opponent's face when he realizes you
whipped his ass with a Lass...

So next time you see a card that you think was a
complete waste of paper, use it in a deck.
