Some of the best Pokemon may not always be holographic. For example, just 
for 2 energy of any kind and 1 Fire that you discard, Charmeleon can do 50 
damage. Then put on another fire and attack again. It would take Charizard 
(which ISN'T A VERY GOOD POKEMON) 2 more turns to attack again. Charmeleon 
could have already done around 200 damage already! That is pretty could and 
saves you some room in decks for better cards than Charizard.

Poliwrath, one of the best stallers ever. Use Poliwrath's Whirlpool and that 
Pokemon can bearly attack or can't attack at all. Poliwhirl's Amnesia is 
definitely a good staller too.

The first Electrode's attack is pretty good, but I'd stay away from the 
Pokemon power. He can do 50 damage with a 50/50 chance that he will hurt 
himself, but that's no problem.

Charizard I already went over. For goodness sake, a Staryu can kill him.

Zapdos. DISCARD ALL ENERGY CARDS FOR 100 DAMAGE!!!! Just put in 4 Zapdos and 
56 electric energies, and maybe you'll do good, otherwise, don't put him in 
your deck.

Arcanine I don't have to go over, but I will. Either discard an energy card 
for 50 damage or kill yourself in 4 turns. You decide.

I know that there is more, but for right now that is all that I can take.
