Hi! This was my first time to visit this site, and I went first thing to "Single Card Evaluations". I had a good time, but one thing that bugged me is Scyther's ridicule. I admit, I made fun of him at first, but, with or without a double colorless, here are 4 good reasons to use Swords Dance. I found the latter 2 out today, and I'm sure there are more. Swords Dance is a very tactical move- and if you learn to use it on the right Pokémon, you can give your opponent heck with Scyther while you load the bench 1. Obviously, when you power him and he only has 2 energy on him, you can do this and it's almost like his attack takes two energy. 2. If you used Mankey's Peek or somehow know your opponenent has a Potion or Super Potion, you COULD attack that 60 HP Kadabra or something that can recover SOME WAY with 60 HP twice, but then they could recover. If you do the whole 60 at once, there is no chance to recover. 3. If you are fighting a Spearow or Pidgeotto with Mirror Move, and you use Swords Dance, there was no damage done, thus, nothing to Mirror. They are forced to use Peck or Whirlwind (Whirlwind being more of a problem. Keep your Bench ready to retreat.) .This saves you 20 damage versus Spearow and 10 versus Pidgeotto. 4. If you are fighting Machamp, you can do it this way so "Strikes Back" only "Strikes" your Scyther once (Or twice, if you start from ground zero, but more than likely someone who knows who to use Swords Dance and has some good draws can give him some damage before he gets to Machamp) Don't forget, Scyther makes a GREAT opening pokemon, especially against the high number of fighting decks out there. My friend was shocked when his Rhyhorn died the second turn. And splash him in Psychic decks(Only problem is the missing Grass energy. Maybe with Execcute and Execcutor, you could just add a little . . .). That's a great surprise to help you beat the fighting Pokemon (or Rock, rather). Brenen Blair alt_er_ego@hotmail.com
