This is my third Prerelease, and coming in after a win in the FireRed LeafGreen I had high hopes. I was excited with the new dark Pokémon, but had not seen any previews of the cards, so I did not know what to expect.  Enough idle chatter… On To The Deck!

Pokemon: 18

1 Team Rocket’s Suicune EX (major butt whipping!)

1 Dark Raticate

2 Rattata (1 #71, 1 #72)

1 Dark Dragonair (Evolutionary Light is back!)

2 Dratini (1 #52, 1#53)

2 Dark Houndoom (Killer card)

3 Houndour (2 #59, 1 #60)

1 Dark Magniton (40 damage + poison… deadly in Limited, muuahahahahah…)

1 Magnimite #66

1 Sentret (did nothing the entire tournament)

1 Mareep #67

1 Magmar (Dump and draw, but did not get a chance to use…)

1 Magby

Trainers: 5

2 Pow! Hand Extension!

1 Rocket’s Hideout

1 Rocket’s Poké Ball

1 Rocket’s Admin.

NRG: 17

6 Fire

6 Water

5 Lightning

There really is no theme to this deck… but it should be fun to play anyway! I pulled a Dark Tyranitar and Larvitar, but NO Dark Pupitar. L

Round 1 Vs. Eric

I go first and start with Dratini and attack. He draws and uses Koffing. I draw Dark Dragonair and Evolutionary Light for Dark Houndoom. Then I attack for the KO. My turn comes again and I Evolutionary Light for Dark Magniton and evolve my benched Magnimite. Over the next couple of turns I power up and then send out Dark Magniton and start doing 40+ auto poison a turn. (muahahahahah…) I come out the victor!

Record: 1-0, 3 points.

Round 2 Vs. some guy… (I think his name was Chris, I can’t remember.)

Again, I started with Dratini and Dark Dragonair in my hand. I also had a Houndour. After a few turns, I got Dark Houndoom on the bench powered up. I took an easy first 3 prizez, but he came back by KO’ing my Dark Dragonair and Dark Houndoom. I drew a card and picked up Team Rocket’s SUICUNE EX! I got him out and started putting the other Pokémon to sleep with Icy Wind. I finally took the last prize and Won!

Record: 2-0, 6 points.

Round 3 Vs. Brandee

I was able to get Dark Houndoom and Dark Magniton out pretty quickly and took 2 early prizez, but she knocked both out with her confounded Furret. (we had a little discussion with the judge about his second attack which reads, Quick Tail Smash, 30 Damage. Before doing damage, you may flip a coin is heads, this attack does 80 damage, if tails, this attack does nothing, not even damage) Fortunately, she got tails for a while, long enough for my TR Suicune EX to power up and take her down. I win again.

Record: 3-0, 9 points.

Final round Vs. Jonathan.

This game was the toughest game I played this tournament. We both got out to a good start and I got Dark Houndoom and Dark Dragonair out early. But he KO’ed the Houndoom and I was only ahead by 1 prize to 2. I sent out a damaged Magmar and passed. He uses a trainer like the old Team Rocket’s Digger(old TR set) and does 10 to my Magmar KO’ing it. I, not thinking, send out my Dark Dragonair w/ 20 HP left. He attacks and wins the game >.<

Record: 3-1, 9 points.

Fortunetly, I did not face any EX’s, but that was ok (he he he).  Well, it was fun, and I anxiously awaited the winners being called. The prizez were constructed differently, obviously to make it fairer to the younger age groups, because everyone got the same amount of packs. (which really stinks for the winner!) They finally announced the winners and I WON FIRST!!!!! Yay! I didn’t get any more EX’s, but I got another Dark Tyranitar and a Dark Steelix(best type combo right there, dark and metal in the same Pokémon). I quickly traded a holo Dark Electrode for 2 Dark Pupitar before we left. I can’t wait for the next tournament or Prerelease!

Props:

My Deck!

To Gamer’s Lair for hosting another tournament

For getting half off signup fee for winning last time

To Nintendo for making all these cool cards

To Sandslash (my fav Pokémon)

Slops:

Not getting a Dark Sandslash card(which is amazing, by the way)

To Nintendo for rearranging the prizez for winning. Ugh!
