Not much strategy to this deck. =/  Just 0wn all other decks with fera =/

There were around 85+ people there.  Only 32 in the 11-14 and 17 or so in the 10 and under.  Practiced a bit, got jonathan brooks and his dad to sign blastoise and alakzam cards.  The judges were Jonathan Brook’s dad..Dave Brooks (PokeDad) and Pokesensei.

Before the tourneh I ate some nasteh mcdonalds bagel thingy…never having them again.

Round 1 vs. Alexia Painter with an interesting Psychic deck

I got to go first and she started out with some sabrina’;s abra and some other stuff.  I had like a cleffa or a totodile…after a few turned I had a croconaw and was able to sweep away for a few KOs.  Then I got fera and just 0wned the rest of the bench for the win.  Not such a bad game..but a tad bit easier then I expected.

Round 2 vs. Jessica Bourne

She had that dreaded steelix and slowking deck.  I was getting crap with my cleffa’s eeks’ but finally got a feraligatr going before she could do anything with a steelix.  I eliminated the neo onix quickly.  She really never got anything started up until the end.  She had a steelix with 2 metal energy and I had about 7 water enrgy in the discard with some more water in the deck.  I was able to wrath once getting about 5 or 6 more water into the discard and then I secret missioned discarding any three cards to draw the rest of my deck.  To my amazement they were water and enough in my discard to do around 150.  I beat the steelix for the last prize.

Round 3 vs. Mathew Charles

We playe tested before the tourney…I beat his slowking/umby pretty easy before.  This time he gave me a challenge.  To my luck he never flipped for slowking…but I had to flip for that annoying chaos gym.  It wasn’t til the end when he realized he could flip.  By then I was able to hold out with babies and mankeys until I got a croc and a fera powered up.  His umby’s and slowkings couldn’t hold out against fera’s great power.

By this time I was happy and amazed I have gotten this far…only one more needed for top 8…could I get it.

Round 4 vs. Nick Yurick

First of all he had these huge stuffed annoying pokemon dolls.  I thought I’d be nice and let him keep them on since they weren’t that big of deal.  We play…he goes first and knows how to roll my dice..most every roll he gets a four.  At the beginning I had my croc out before his and was almost able to knock his out…just that I didn’t draw the third water energy I needed and instead I got a trash exchange.  After that he kept going through and eating away at what I tried to build.  He won.  But this is the thing…he had japanese cards in his deck…and the TO allowed him to use PAPER proxies instead of AMERICAN CARDs for the translations in his deck.  Also he had 2 cards in the sleeves…which I did not notice and was probably my fault.  He was not even disqualified when his deck was checked in the top 8.  The TO was so stupid in letting people use paper proxies for the cards.  See I wouldn’t be so mad at this guy if his deck was fully legal and he had the proxies.  I had to actually wait a little bit to get my american feraligatr to use outside my deck as a translation and he comes up in here and uses 5 cent paper translations.  The Tournament Director really pissed me off.  Even the judges…PokeSensei and Pokedad wouldn’t try to stand up for the DCI rules.  Another thing I am wondering about is why Jonathan Brooks was allowed to play…He had already won the qualifier in Philly and was not allowed to win another, but that I didn’t mind so much because he plays a legal deck and stuff. ;/

Now I was talking to everyone from Raleigh, NC(mostly the whole tournament…) and was complaining to the judges and everything.  They would do nothing which really irritated me.

Round 5 vs. Kwame Hart (fellow Raliegh guy =/)

He had a Arcy/slowking against my deck.  I made a few fatal errors during the game which cost the game.  I forgot he had cinnabar gym in play and thought I knocked out his arcy when it did not which really put me on the spot.  Then it was the battle of the elekids, and he flipped more heads than me.  He won it on time.  Oh well.
