The Key Strategy:

Lots
of People there. Some new faces, many
old faces. Corey and Paul got the rounds
going, lets get to the action =/.
Round 1
vs. Eric Rust(I think that’s his last name =/) Steelix/Slowking
He starts with onix and gets a steelix early… I struggle to build a fera or two, then I taunt up his slowking in the middle of the game hoping to stall. He elmed past Chaos Gym and got some deck back. Then I decided to fight. Time was called on my turn while he had 3 prizes to my 4. I finished my turn and was able to riptide a slowpoke to tie up the game. Not a great start, but better than a loss.

vs. Annoying Kid with weird SI mew and stuff =\
This kid was annoying and tried to cheat a lot. He sux0red and I 0wned his SI mew, misty’s poliwhirl, promo mew, poliwag, and some other stuff for the win .

Round 3
vs. Some Country Kid w/ TR charmander / koga’s pidgey(probably pidgeotto but I never
saw it)
Kind of a quick game. At the beginning he flipped his pokemon up for like a quick second and I thought it was neo onix. I was like omfg not another one. =/ He then fully flipped over and it was a Tr charmandera gainst my totodile. I think he went first but it diedn’t really matter. I swiped for 20. Then was able to swipe to kill off the Dark charmeleon he had evolved into. I got croconaw and swiped away that koga’s pidgey for the win.

During the extra
time I had, I got some pizza, which was bought by a very nice lady who bought
like 5+ boxes of pizza for everyone. Kudos to her. I got
me a slice and rank me a whole can of sprite.
Round 4
vs. Ryan Schloss (Shoeless =/) With
fera
Totally a tough game. Probably the best one I played all day. I got lucky with some trash exchanges and wrathes and he flipped tials on his focus bands. After a grueling 20 minutes, this match’s end was in sight. He saw that I was gonna come away with this one. With 3 or 4 cards in deck, he wrathed and let himself deck. What an honorable way to loose =/. A good sport as well.

Pretty
good game to the bitter end. We kept getting feras
going back and forth. He made a bad
mistake in wrathing twice. He decked out in 3 turns, not being able to
flip a heads on my Cleffa’s baby rule.

vs. Marlyssa ( spelling?)
with erica’s Venusaur and meganium
From when I saw
her deck being checked, I was afraid she’d 0wn me with her grass. She had a bad start with the cleffa that makes you draw 2. I was luckily able to double gust and KO
stuff before it got dangerous. Venusaur, Meganium, and Scyther must all heel to the great power of Gatr =/.

I came in second
So far for the Swiss tournament. I
didn’t even loose once, which was amazing.
After another Deck Check, we move onto the Top 8:
Round 1
vs. Brian Leary w/ psychic deck
I thought at
first, ahh what a piece of cake!! A
psychic deck with no slowking. Wow I was wrong. I struggled till the very end to win this
game. Defeating his
Sabrina’s Alakzam, Gengar
and MP Mewtwo with the help of smeargle. That Gengar even
flipped 2 heads on call of the night to shuffle my feraligatr
into my deck. I thought I was doomed
=/. Strong and mighty like Feraligatr is, he came through and 0wned him to an amazing
win.

Round 2
vs. Marlyssa (Spelling?) with that same annoying
grass deck =/
This game was
slightly harder, but I was able to hold out and KO 2 meganiums. The rest was basically a piece of cake. She was only played 1 Professor Elm too,
which is kind of bad to do. I’m sure
you’ll max that to 4 later =/. Great
game though, your grass gave me a challenge.

I was jumping for
joy now. All of my friends were like wow
go David and everyone was congratulating me.
I was surely excited. There was
still another game to play, but I didn’t care.
I let the judge check my deck again and onto the final game.
Round 3
vs. Bryson Bonham with anti-fera deck (e’s victreebel/umbyHOLO)
I had a bad start, he quickly got that victreebel
going and 0wned me fair and square. He
won =/. Omg my first and only loss, how
amazing.
