Anyone (even 15+ yay!)could have entered with a $5 fee and a rocket-on deck. It was a point format, where matches were chosen randomly then players fought against each other by comparison of their points. 3 for a win 2 for a win when time is called 1 for a win by decking 0 for a loss Round One vs. Slowking deck /w Murkrow This was a long one, he grabbed a few prizes right off the bat with Murkrow, then I played Unown D. I had a charmander out with Unown D on the bench with a typhlosion powering up a Blaine's Arcanine. We had a long argument about if Unown D's power worked for Charmander. MTP was looking it up and he knocked out charmander anyway, regardless of the ruling (the game had to go on). I knocked out Murkrow with typhlosion, and he knocked him out with Wooper. I was up on prizes when time was called and got the win. points: 2 Round 2 vs. Eeveelution deck This was quick, I powered up a blaine's arcanine with typhlosion's on the bench, he had an ND eevee and a neo electabuzz. My opponent was able to get some of his eevees to evolve, but it was too late. points: 5 Round 3 vs. Xatu deck Hard match. He got out a natu and tried to confuse cleffa, anyway he kept flipping tails. Eventually I got a Blaine's Arcanine powered up and he got a Xatu to kill my cleffa. I knocked out Xatu and it was smooth sailing thereafter. points: 8 Round 4 vs. Misty's Golduck deck This was the toughest match I ever had. He started with a MP Mewtwo and wrathed like there was no tomorrow. He got the psychic energy he needed and absorbed. I powered up a quilava and smokescreened hoping he would flip tails. He didn't, and took a prize. Eventually he retreated and brought up a golduck to make life miserable. I got him back with an arcanine, which he knocked out with another golduck. I brought up typhlosion and tried to KO it, but he won the focus band flip. As the match went on, he had 1 prize left and I had three. He had a Misty's Golduck with two water energy a mewtwo with a psychic and a water, and a couple of misty's psyducks on the bench. I had an active Cleffa, typhlosion, unown D, Giovanni's Nidoran, and a Blaine's Growlithe. I powered up Giovanni's Nidoran and knocked out golduck, then he sent out psyduck and did 20 damage. I retreated sent out Ty, and KO'ed the psyduck. He sent out Mewtwo and absorbed, and I flame bursted for the win. Points: 11 Round Five vs. Ty/RK9 I had a bad draw and he knocked everyone out one by one with typhlosion. Points: 11 Round six vs. Dark Blastoise deck My opponent got a Dark Blastoise on turn 3 and tried to knock out my cleffa, but it didn't work. I got a Blaine's Arcanine out and two typhlsions out and firestormed the blastoise. After that he tried to stall me out but I benched him in the end. Points: 14 Record: 5-1 Ranking: 3rd (two people tied for first) Prize: seven NG boosters The tournament wasn't that bad, it seemed like people were more interested with original decks. I didn't see one Feraligatr deck, and only one other person was playing Ty/RK9. It was interesting. One funny moment was when one of the quarterfinalists in the real QT tournament came up to get his prize, half a box of Neo Genesis. I came up to get my prize thinking I would get half a box, and only got 7 boosters!!!! It was fun Props: to wizards for finding something for us 15+ to do me for getting 3rd place to my opponents for good games to my lucky four leaf clover (hehehe) Slops: None, really.
