Who says the Wigglytuff is dead? I created this deck to revolve around the Golduck and Dragonair – in particular their Hyper Beam attacks – and the Wiggly’s were more of an afterthought, although incredibly handy. As yet, this deck remains undefeated.

Hyper-Wiggly

3 Psyduck (fossil)

2 Golduck (fossil)

4 Jigglypuff (Jungle)

3 Wigglytuff (jungle)

4 Dratini (base)

3 Dragonair (base)

2 Swinub (NG)

1 Piloswine (NG)

4 Switch

2 Rocket’s Training Gym

1 Rockets Minefield Gym

1 No Removal Gym

3 Bill

2 Potion

2 Professor Elm

1 Energy Flow

3 Recycle Energy

4 Double Colorless

13 Water Energy

I am actually wanting to get hold of more Golduck for this deck, maybe replace the Swinub & Piloswine, but I only have two, so I guess it’ll have to wait. Not that I should be complaining… :)

Hyper-Wiggly vs Tim (Psychic Haymaker)

I hadn’t met him at any league meetings before, but he boasted his deck was (insert ridiculous ratio here) undefeated, and was pretty smug, so I smiled sweetly and challenged him. His deck, I found out later, sported four Kangaskhan, at least one Snorlax, and an army of Mew, Mewtwo, Gastly, Haunter and Gengar, to name a few. I drew a Psyduck as my starting Pokemon, and he had Mr. Mime. I knocked out Mr. Mime after a few successful Fury Swipes, building up my Dratini & evolving it into Dragonair before switching it into the Arena. Once I had a Golduck in reserve, his Pokemon simply couldn’t get the energy up to attack, and I totally annihilated his previously undefeated deck. I never even saw a Kangaskhan that first game!

Hyper-Wiggly vs Eric (Ground/Electric)

This was funny. Eric is actually my fiance, and knows how tough my decks are to beat. He had prepared his deck with Sprout Towers, and his deck combination exploited the weaknesses of mine. I started out with Swinub, who successfully put his Onix to sleep for half the game, til it evolved into Steelix and knocked out Swinub. In the meantime, I’d built up a good bench though, and despite a few Stadium cards being played (I counteracted a Sprout Tower with a Rocket’s Training Gym), sent in my Dragonair, and removed the Steelix’s Metal Energy! Once I’d got that tough opponent out with another Hyper Beam and a double successful Slam, I switched for my Wigglytuff, and finished the game in no time.

Hyper-Wiggly vs David (Blastoise deck)

David was another player with almost patriotic feelings about his Blastoise deck – he reckoned it was unbeatable. This was a really quick game. Again, I started with Psyduck, but drew Golduck on my second turn. He only had one poor little lonely Squirtle, nothing on the bench, and although I beat him hands down, it still felt like an empty victory. Oh well.

3-0

Props & Slops

Props to Nugget’s Cards and Games for their great league, and to Tactics for finally setting up a league!

Slops to my pre-school aged son who was getting cranky and forced us to leave early :(
